Does anyone here order their transplant medicine online to be shipped to their address and if so, has it affected your anti-rejections medicines?

I was a bit concern beings that the weather has been in the upper 90's and I thought Cellcept and Prograf capsules could not be in hot-humid weather just sitting on your porch until you get home.

I have to start ordering my anti-rejection medicine online from a Prescription Solutions if I do not want to pay for full retail price because of my husband's insurance.

Hi Deb...

My understanding is that most of our meds have a tolerance for high temperatures over short periods of time -- you're absolutely right in being concerned that your shipped meds can be exposed to high temperatures... Weather in the upper 90s is the weather outside -- inside a truck, it likely reaches even higher...

However -- in the grand scheme of things, the exposure is relatively short... They may take a few days to be shipped -- but with day and night and hot and cool, the total hours exposed to the heat is likely not that high...

I've been getting my anti-rejection drugs via mail order for over 11 years now -- initially it was prednisone, Prograf and Cellcept -- now it's prednisone, Prograf and Rapamune... I do not believe I've had any problems...

Paying full retail price can be prohibitively expensive, particularly when your husband's insurance will cover so much of the cost if you use mail order -- that money can be put to SOOoooo much better use...

Love, Steve
