Well after a very anxious weekend..I am headed to the rheum. office tomorrow in Indy for bloodwork and office visit 6 weeks early. I had some mouth pain and knee pain and went to the doctor for it..he put me on an antibiotic and anti inflamm. med. thurs night. I asked if I could get my bloodwork done this week instead of next and so I got it done on Fri at 8. At 11 my doc in Indy called and told me my wbc was dangerously low. So off the Cellcept they took me and off the anti inflamm. med. I have been wearing a mask and washing my hands more than I have all year. I have not run a fever so I did not go to the ER. Tomorrow she will repeat the bloodwork to see what is up. Everything else was pretty normal. nothing else out of range. So I have been worried big time all weekend and probably just made myself more miserable...I get real anxious about medical stuff...wish I didn't. Will let you know what they find out. I have packed a bag just in case they keep me for some reason. My dad is taking me over.

My Liver transplant was on March 1st. The only issue I have had post transplant has been the WBC. The antibiotics kill the while cells. Part of the White cells are the netraphils (sp). My WBC went to .5 and Netraphils to about 100. The cure was a series of three shots of Neuprogen that gave myself. This has happened 3 times now and no big deal for me. Google "Dan's liver blog" and there is more info |

Wishing you luck today Heather. Hope all turns out okay for you. What a shock that must have been about the blood count! Let us know how the doctor visit goes.

Well they did not keep me. I went over to Indy on the 16th I think and had blood work done. My wbc came back fine but something about the neutrofils were low so she had pathology test the blood. She told me to hold off on the cellcept (starting it again). She said it was most likely a lab error on the part of the hospital here locally. I am not so sure. SOMETHING was going on with all my pain..unexplained pain in my mouth...unreal pain. My labs done in INdy also showed my creatinine up to 1.3 and my GFR down to 43. During the week after I saw this doctor, I KNOW my kidneys did not seem to be working normally...I was drinking like a fish and just not going to the bathroom as I normally would. It was scaring me...this continued so I called my doctor here and he had me to a urine sample which came back fine so then had a BMP done to see what my creatinine and GFR were...they were back to what they were before. I had been praying for a good report and I got it..thank you Lord!! I don't know what that was all about but it freaked me out..which probably did not help the whole scenario. side note...now that I am off cellcept for awhile...I am not nauseated!! feels nice. However...I swear my back hurts worse again..... Hopefully I will not be seeing a doctor til the end of sept...
