Hi, I'm Amber. I had a liver transplant in 1989 when i was 6 years old. i was diagnosed with neo- natal hepatitis. I walked out of the hospital 12 day after surgery and was able to come back to my home state a month and a half after transplant i haven't had many problems with the exception of a few rejection episodes that were able to be controlled by large doses of prednisone... I have been doing pretty well considering the side effects from the meds also.... |

Hi Amber, Thank's for your post, it is very uplifting to hear how well you are doing. The rejection issues you have had are normal according to what I have been told. So, you are doing very well. Do you have any tips you would like to share with us? I would love to hear more about you.

Hi Amber and welcome to the site! You are another young one. We seem to have quite a few around your age. How awesome you are doing so well. We would love to hear more about your life after transplant and how you dealt with it during growing up and such. It always amazes me how strong tx. recipients are...the things they go through and survive. Good to have you!! Please feel free to share anything on any of our forums.
