,,,,.,,\clip art{lameI'm Kate, I'm Jeremy's mom. April 4, 09 He crashed his month old motorcycle.A1000. we begged him not to get it. He worked hard, He took care of his Wife, two kids, even helped his Dad &Me when we had a big project. The weekend before the wreck He came over Sat.& Sun. helping us plant the garden. LA got to love the early spring. I never in my wildest nightmare imagined GOD would take one of my kids. He doesn't put anything on us that we cant handle. I've hated being A strong woman for much less than that. I'm sure Y'all can relate, as I've read some of Your blogs. We have both been donors forever. Good Friday the Doc. told us Jeremy was brain dead. I opened His eyelid, & saw firsthand what "fixed & dilated"is. I could barely see the green of his irises almost all pupil, staring at GOD. I stayed till they ran me out,& held his hand for the last time It would be warm. I told my 28 year old baby man good bye. I picked up the pieces and went to tell His dad He was going in for surgery to harvest his organs when the recipients arrived at hospital. Both Jeremy's dad & 31 year old sister wouldn't come with me when I thought I was going to be told He was dead. I got to see REM in his eyes from Sat. till fri. We have A great support system though! This whole town rallied around us! The Organ Donor GIRL led us around and pointed us to where ever we needed to be. My Daughter-in-law told me she left our name in case the recipients were interested in meeting us. I was glad, i hadn't even thought of it. A few days later She told me they do want to meet us! 11 days post-op ODGIRL(Libby) said she had an update. my D-N-L put her on speaker. While we both cried our eyes out, She told us "So far all was well with the recipients but it was still early." she could tell us that day, that 2 blind people can now see because of our gift. A68 year old LA man got a kidney. A38 year old man got the other. A 19 year old LA girl got the liver. Up to 80 people would be helped with bone, skin,& tissue. I believe GOD made me find Y'all. His strength carries me now. I hope for all of you! I haven't had hope scene 4-04-09 till yesterday.}} |

Hello Kate and welcome to TransplantBuddies. I just saw your name today and did not know your story until just now. I am deeply sorry to learn about your precious Son and how he lost his life in a motorcycle accident. We have two other Organ donor Moms on this site, Kristen and Janet who I am sure you will get to know soon. You all will bond instantly, I am certain of it. God Bless You all for having the foresight to give the gift of life to someone who was in need. Your Gifts are very much appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you and learn more about your son Jeremy.

Kate: I welcomed you on the other post, but after reading your story I just wanted to say that I am so sorry that you lost your son. It has to hurt in the deepest part of your heart. What I find so amazing is that even though you and your family are hurting so much you were able to think of saving other people's lives through organ donation. Jeremy's lives on in all those people that now have a second chance at life because of him. You are a very brave and generous woman Kate. Thank you!!! God Bless!

Kate, I saw your post on my blog last night, but didn't read yours until now. It moves me to tears. I also am sorry for the loss of your son. God had a plan for him, as he does for all of us. Please feel free to ask anything, we are all here for each other. You are truly a beautiful person, as was Jeremy. May God Bless you and your family.

Kate, Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your dear son, Jeremy. That date is special to me also, my only granddaughter, Emily was stillborn on that date in 2000. My youngest son, Joe was also an organ donor when he passed on August 21, 1994. He was 14 years old when he died. He was attempting to save the life of a classmate when he drowned in a low head dam. He lived for four days on life support before he was pronounced brain dead....please know that we are here for you when you need us, and I hope that you can eventually find peace as the time passes. This is something that you never 'get over'......you just somehow down the road, learn to live with it. Some days are ok, others are a night mare....but somehow we survive. Bless your heart and wishing you peace.

Hello Kate, I'm so very sorry that you lost your precious son. It's good that you found this site....it can be very therapeutic...at least it has been for me. My 16 year old daughter, Sarah, was killed in a car accident 2 yrs and 4 months ago. She saved 5 lives, including a 9 year old boy who now has her heart, Alex. I'm here if you need to "talk". You can also email me with that private message option thing on here. Take care, Kristen

Didn't want anyone who follows this blog to miss out -- Here is Kate's precious son Jeremy and Jeremy's wife Kristin. A fine son and daughter-in-law of which any mother would be proud. Hope you don't mine, Kate. I took the liberty of copying this from the other thread. I hope everyone is having a great day!
