Thanks everyone for your support, I am going to try to make this work. Not much excitement here.... Trip to the doc the other day, and I finally WON!!! YEAH....I will be getting a new knee on August 20th. Sort of like you guys waiting on a waiting list for a new organ. I was told I had to wait until I was 60 for a new knee, but the doc finally agreed with me, and said bone on bone is just too much pain to bear, and he would do the replacement for me. I am thinking that losing 110 lbs since I saw him last summer, might have had something to do with his decision. Now, I need to get my body into shape so that when I come home from the hospital I will heal quickly. But that is all I have for today... Love ya all, and thanks for allowing me to share.

Hi Janet I am glad that you started a blog here Geez, sorry to hear you have to go through a knee replacement. Are you working with a therapist on strengthening your leg as a whole? Swimming is great for the body. You can preform many exercises in the pool.

Risa, thanks, I am not in therapy at this point, actually my doc thinks I get around wonderfully now....but the pain is what I have to deal with when I am finished moving around. I am hopeful that the knee replacement will take care of the pain that I have now, thus why I don't walk, etc. It is too painful afterwards. But, hopefully all will go well. Bob, THANK YOU....I didn't think I was that great of a writer, but I talk from the heart.......no mushy extra words, just how I feel...I guess I am doing ok with it that way. Love ya,

Bob, you are just too sweet...thank you... Heather, thank you also...I am hoping that I can go back to 'my old self' that liked to walk and do things, not the person I have become who doesn't want to even 'move' let alone go out and do things....dancing would be nice too, it's been way too long.

Janet: Great news about the new knee. I think that after losing all the weight (job well done!!) you should be able to be free to move around and keep up with your kids and grandkids. If a new knee gives you a better quality of life, then I say Yahoo!!! Now you just have to wait until Aug. 20th. It will go fast. Don't forget to remind us so that we can be sure to pray for a safe surgery and quick recovery!! God Bless!

Karen, THank you so much for the prayers, I can certainly use as many of them as everyone can offer....you can never have too many!! And yes, I am finding out that Aug 20th is approaching way too fast. I am hopeful that the knee replacement will be just what I need for a kick in the pants to lose the last 20 lbs that I need to lose, I am up to 120 lbs off now....can't wait to finish it up Went shopping today for a dress to take along on vacation the first week of August....it was fun being able to look through all of the small sizes instead of size FAT.....I will leave it at that size...and it is funny, because I find myself in the 'plus sizes' every time I go shopping for clothing....I guess I have been shopping in that section for so long that it is a hard habit to break. But buying a size 8 or 10 is so much more cool.....thanks for the kudos......I do like myself so much better at this size, so much easier on my lungs, legs, knees, etc. THANK EVERYONE!!!

Hi Janet, I just found your blog, and wanted to congratulate you on your inspiring weight loss, and wish you well on your upcoming knee surgery. I have a good friend who needs the same surgery due to bone on bone pain, but she can't afford it due to a lack of decent insurance. She has always been very active, but this condition has changed her life, so I am familiar with how much you must be looking forward to a new knee. Hope that you have a speedy recovery. All the best, Deb

I missed a couple of posts while I was away on vacation...sorry. Heather, thank you so much for your kind words...the 20 is only two days away at this point...and I am really looking forward to it....hope I am not delusional about it all making things less painful. But, I can't imagine it can get worse...so, hoping for the best. Deb, thanks for dropping in on my blog...it is fun to be able to share just 'life' with all of you. I know about the insurance thing...up until last year, our insurance was awful. But, my hubby went back to his old job, and it is so much better there. Thanks for the congrats on the weight loss, I am so glad that I finally did it......I feel so much better since I lost weight, I am hoping for a speedy recovery on the knee,

Janet: I will be praying for you on the 20th. You will have to get back to us as soon as you feel up to it to tell us how great your new knee feels. There is a lady in our church that just had both hips replaced. She did wonderful. She says she feels like a new woman. I am sure you will too!! God Bless!

Karen, Thank you....I am hoping that I feel like a new woman too....I am going to send Bob a couple of pics to post on here, if he will. I know he is in bed by now, but hopefully tomorrow. To show me since I lost weight. I had lunch with another of my cyber buddies, we live two hours apart, so for the last two years we have met half way between our houses and had lunch together....she took a picture last year, and another this year, and wow...what a difference 120 lbs makes. So, I wanted to share it with all of you also.....So, all I need is a new knee to be a completely new woman....doubt that my hubby would agree, but what does he know...LOL
