Hi, Has anyone missed more than 1 dose of their medications? Had to go to a function and i usually have a backup dose in my car but for some reason ended up switching cars and staying overnight. So the problem was missing my evening dosage and the morning dosage. Quickly went to a nearby pharmacy and got at least my 500 mg of my Cellcept but not my 2 mg of tacrolimus. Phoned my neph and he says when i get home to take my meds right away and it shouldn't be a concern. My question is has anyone been in this situation and missed more than 1 does? Does it really have an impact?

I've missed a couple of doses before due to vomiting and it didn't seem to have any lasting impact. I know that there are some studies going on where folks are only taking meds a couple of times per week as the effects of the drugs seem to last quite some time on the immune system. If your center isn't too worried, and you don't make a habit of it, I wouldn't worry either. Cora

Gill, I have missed only a dose,I would suggest asking your transplant tx and like Cora mention above that if your tx center is not worried, and you don't make it a habit.

In general one missed dose on a rare occasion doesn't do any harm. Though it seems that your doctor isn't concerned, so that's a good sign. If you want to get peace of mind, have your labs done tomorrow so if anything is off it will can be taken care of just a few days after it started, which shouldn't cause any long term problems.
