Hey there again :-) I'm very glad to tell everyone that my ANCA results came negative, so in total the cause for the rapid progressive thing I suffered will remain unknown.

I would like to ask if any of you ever had a temporal hemo dialysis catheter. And if so, after removing the catheter, did the hole eventually disappeared by its own after some time? or you need a esthetic procedure?

I have a slight scar where mine used to be, but barely noticeable at all. My catheter was removed in August of 2010. I never really had a hole though. It was just a scab that turned into a scar.

Besides you could tell people " see this scar - without this I would be dead!"

Gosh, I still have a little hole from the picc line in my neck during my transplant surgery in August. I was rather surprised, but at this point, that's the least of my worries. I don't know how you could fix it, other than plastic surgery.

I had some holes, but they filled in leaving scars. I look like I've been bitten by a vampire on both sides of my neck. It could make a great halloween costume. lol.

Like all others, the scars fade.

I tell people it is a vampire bite scar. I also have a thyroidectomy scar across my throat/neck. People used to ask me if I had my throat slashed. I would just look at them blankly and say yes. That shut them up real fast!

I am covered with scars. When I met my husband, I told him the stories behind all of them. It's like having a diary with you at all times.

lol I also tell to the people it was vampire bite. If you think about it, in a simbolical way it could actually be like if we had bitten by vampires since our blood got corrupted, we got cold (the anemia) and we could have died :D

Hi Cat,
I think I have more scar tissue than regular skin. All the nicks and cuts are like a diary, each with it's own story and something to be proud of. Some you can relay to those , who don;t have a clue what you have been through, just to survive. It makes sitting in traffic or everyday frustrations a bit of a private joke.
