Mine is 115 (11.5 in US measurements - just divide by 10). According to my lab this is the bottom end of normal. Cora

Hi Cora, I'm curious how you're energy is at a low rbc? I just hit 150 which haven't been for many years pre-transplant. I've been doing tons of physical stuff at my new house which might be encouraging it. I've also stopped drinking for awhile. I'm curious if that has an effect.

I'm doing ok. I feel better at 120, but right now this is the best I can do. I've always been on aranesp post tx, and it's tedious to keep taking the shots. Also, my neph knows of some articles that suggest that kidney patients with a slightly lower hemoglobin were at less risk for heart attacks, so he's happy where I am. I am not that active, but it's getting better. I think once I get moving more my hb will go up some too. I don't think drinking really has an effect, but I could be wrong. Cora

Cora, How often are your shots? You may want to ask your neph about mircera. It is basically the same as the epoetin shots, except that it is long lasting, give or take once a month shots depending on how you respond. It is made by Roche. My neph has quite a number of patients on it, both dialysis and transplant. She has mentioned that based on her experience, patients take the injection is once every 3-8 weeks, depending on the how they respond and the hemoglobin target level. Most patients come in between the once every 4 to 6 week ranges.
