Well the carpet is picked out, and being installed on Tues. I have ripped out the entire living/dining area and the small hallway..rolled and put it on the porch for Danny to take to carport (he can at least do that, can't he?) and cleaned up the yuck that is left behind from 15 year old carpet..yeah...that old. ugh. I spent much time in knee pads pulling out staples..another fun job. I am beyond tired from messing with that..what a mess. I finally got it as done as it is gonna be..the hardwood is pretty underneath but there are some really rough looking areas as well. So if we ever did want to have them, we could refinish those...or a buyer would have that option.

Fathers Day was a rush. Danny left at 6 am to go to his sons church in Indy and then a cookout at his house. I stayed here and cooked dinner for my family and took it over to mom and dad's house. I was up at 5 with Danny and tired by 9 am..haha...funny but not really.....

I am tired A LOT. I mean TIRED..fatigued perhaps. Not sure APS has that effect but I know Lupus does...or maybe most autoimmune disorders do.. Little tasks just wear me out anymore. Usually if I am tired (in the past) I would want to nap..try to nap and couldn't get to sleep..now I can hardly make it to the bed to lay down..a few of my meds can cause drowsiness as well.

Well now we are back to the rains again. Danny is on vacation for 2 weeks and so far the weather has not been great...hope it clears up for him or it could be a lonnnnnnnng 2 weeks...

As I am typing...I can hardly keep the eyelids open so I will finish another time....

Heather, I agree that removing old carpeting is a MAJOR chore. We removed the carpeting in 3 bedrooms at different times since my transplant and even though I cut / tore it into 3 foot wide strips so I could handle/lift it, it was an exhausting job each time. Then my hands hurt for days from pulling a million staples from the hardwood.

Get some extra rest and please don't send all of that rain towards Ohio.

yeah...I am still finding more staples..some I cannot get a grip on so I am leaving them for the carpet guys to do whatever with them. It is seriously exhausting..for sure.

We are ready other than moving a few pieces of furniture into the bedroom and kitchen tonight and in the morning. They won't be here til 9 so we have a little time in the morning as well. Then I am taking off for my parents house with Baylie (my furry child) because she will bark incessantly if I leave her here...and I don't want to spend the day in the basement. They said they would be here most of the day...don't know why..it isn't THAT large of a space but they have lots of cut outs..I dunno..hope it is not all day....but it will be what it will be..haha.

And yes...Don..my fingers, hands, elbows and knees are all hurting from pulling staples.

I would think Baylie would love the hardwood in the warm weather..but she is curled up on a little rug I have thrown down there..haha. She will be happy to see carpet again.

and it IS raining again...so may be headed your way.

Well it is feeling like summer again. And with it the rosacea flaring..especially the acne part. Lovely. Also some of my other symptoms (auto immune related ...don't know for sure) are worse right now.
I have had to have bloodwork repeated a few times lately due to elevated liver enzymes and also elevated potassium a few times..but not every month..which is strange to me. Shouldn't they be elevated all the time..esp. the liver? IDK...I got blood work done about 2 weeks ago and my doc called me Fri and left a message to call the office Tues. (tomorrow) to discuss my bloodwork. I am so hoping everything is ok..but I think she would have just said that on the machine. maybe not. I go for a followup on Fri. with her. Seems I am always seeing doctors anymore. When I got the reminder for this appt. I was like..HUH? I thought I just saw her..but it has been 3 months...I saw the Hematologist in between there...and the dermatologist..

so we also got the new carpet in and it is wonderful..soooo soft. we got the best pad they had and man it makes all the difference. To walk in hte bedroom is like walking on wood compared to the living area. nice. feels good on my bad foot as well..I am not supposed to go without shoes or my orthotics..but it actually feels good to go barefoot for a little while on that carpet..

Not too much else going on. Danny has been on vacation for 2 weeks and I think I have gained 5 or more pounds ..lol...hope not..feel like it. Will be glad for him to get back to work so I can get back into the normal routine and start eating right and walking again.

...and it just keeps rolling.....I get a call from my Rheum. in Indy on July1...telling me to call her on July 5 to discuss my lab results. uh oh. So she calls ME...and says..um I am not sure what to make of these labs. You had them done here on June 10 and at your local clinic on the 22nd. (which is where I had been getting them done all along)...the ones done here (Indy) are normal. The ones done locally...show elevated liver and creatnine and potassium...

so now I have to either find somewhere else here to have them done that uses like Quest as a lab..or drive to Indy for that as well. I had an appt. with this doc. this past Fri. and she repeated..again..the labs..plus added some others. Again..done in Indy..they came back normal...except one..now my thyroid counts show I have hypothryoidism. For craps sake. reading up on that...could be why I am so stinking fatigued all the time..why I can't seem to lose any weight...among other things .....anyway...she is sending this to my family doctor to deal with. I see him for a script refill on Wed anyway..so will talk then.

Oh my gosh, Heather! How weird is that! Unbelievable that two different places can get two different readings!
A friend of our takes medication for hypothyroidism. Her symptoms where, as you say, always tired. If she just sat down somewhere, she could fall asleep! Hoping they can get you on the right track...

Gosh..glad I don't get THAT tired! Although at night it could come in handy...haha. I am very tired much of the time, can't lose weight to save my life..my memory stinks, I have concentration problems..this has been going on for a few years though. I had the thyroid checked several times when the burning had started...of course..done locally and it came back normal.

on another note..IT IS HOT OUTSIDE.......tomorrow heat index of 110..and that is not even going to be a sunny day..it is supposed to rain...ugh. I hope the sun doesn't come out. That heat index is 15 degrees hotter than today..I am staying in.

and Hello! I do not post much but I do read and lurk...

Went to the dr. on Wed. and we discussed the thyroid issue. He wanted me to get my T3 and T4 checked before I started the new medicine. So I did my 24 hour urine (yearly) and when I got the blood drawn for that on Fri. morning, I had the other drawn as well. Will get those on Mon. I guess. He put me on the lowest dose of this medicine to start with and said he may have to bump it up..maybe not. Just have to see. I sure hope it helps with some of the fatigue and weight gain issues..and the memory and concentration...sometimes I wonder where the real Heather went?

Anyway..we have been enjoying a few gorgeous days and now we head into another week of very hot weather..they are already issuing heat advisories for the entire week. I am very thankful for AC but love having my windows open instead..and I will put off turning on the AC for as long as I can.

My youngest granddaughter was on a slip n slide at her other grandma's house about a month ago and now has a spiral fracture of her lower leg...she is 4. OW. I guess she will not walk on crutches so mom and dad have to carry her everywhere. I cannot imagine how much fun that is...and what a bummer to have that happen to a kid in the summertime. Poor thing.

Looks like a cloudy day here..which is ok. That helps when the temps are high.

Not sure if my autoimmune disorder is the cause or not...but it is possible.

How are you doing?

Got my T4 an T3 (thyroid function) results and these are normal..which is not unusual even with low thyroid function. My creatnine was 1.2. Pretty normal for me...between 1.1 and 1.2.

So I began my new thyroid med today. Hope I feel better in a while. I know it can take some time..to see a difference. some people say they feel no different on or off the medicine.

The heat ...as most everyone is feeling...is just dragging on and on....it actually rained for 15 min. today..woo hoo yippeeeee....til is stopped..then the humidity shot thru the roof...it was just AWFUL...for awhile. Then the humidity calmed down a bit. I was outside for approx. 3 min..and felt the sweat starting to drip....not a real enjoyable few weeks...Mon is supposed to get a little cooler....can't wait...

Hey Heather! Yeah - it is pretty bad when we have more heat and humidity than Florida! Sad when we consider 88 degrees as "cool"!
When will you know about the thyroid medication - how long does it take to kick in?
Hope you begin to feel better soon and get your energy back.

Hi Diane. I started it yesterday. I read it could take several weeks..especially on the lowest dose..which I am on. I think I am to have it rechecked ..the TSH..at the end of Sept. again to see if it is making a difference in my numbers. So I am not expecting to feel different any time soon..but maybe I will be surprised.

HEY...it rained about 10 min. yesterday...and again for about 20 min. today..woo hoo. Our grass is brown. I have been watering my flowers and they are doing ok..but the grass? oh well. It will come back...eventually. We need rain so badly...I see right now we have T storms warnings flashing on the screen...so maybe we will get some yet tonight. I just pray if we do get storms..no power goes out...I would have to go sleep at someone else's house..whether invited or not!! haha.

Yeah..looking at the extended forcast...88 is looking darn good....and today Danny said what do you mean it is supposed to be as hot today? I thought they said only 92? (yeah..that IS better than it has been...)

On Mon. (this is Fri. night) I started my treadmill again and eating much better..would not have taken much...I have actually been able to jog "lightly"..for lack of a better term..instead of just walk..I am stoked. I use to love to run on my treadmill but my hip injury stopped that cold back in 2006. I could not even walk on the treadmill at all for a few years. Anyway...I have done 2.5 or 3 miles every morning which may not sound like a lot but it is to me right now. But OH....my quads are sooooo sore....and different areas on each leg..haha...so I am hoping with my better eating habits (no I am not cutting out as much as I did before a couple years ago..no way..) I am just eating more of the right things and cutting out the junk..my husband loves junk food and maybe he can eat it and not gain weight (not)...but I can't. Plus I feel like crap...so maybe this will help me feel better as well. I hope the combo of the med for thyroid, the better diet and exercising again (please...no more setbacks???) I can drop some pounds I have gained back.

Well we still need rain so very bad. It is just parched here. Seems to go under and over us..just like the bad storms... It did rain for 3 min. here this morning...teaser.

Ok so it was hot today..but today felt like a normal July-aug day...not unbearable..but hot. I welcome this hot over the last few weeks of unbearable and unbreathable....

Well not much else going on right now.

3 of the grandkids and my stepdaughter coming over for the day today. Taking them out for Pizza for lunch at one of our favorite pizza places..although we don't go often at all because they are pricey..Jocko's (Pizza Inn) here in Danville. I like it there because it is not just pizza and salad..they also have sandwhiches..which I will have. I love the pizza..but it does not love me...so unless I am eating it at home...I don't eat it!!

The forecast calls for rain on Wed...hope it rains before that. Also the temps are pretty normal now for this time of year..thank you, Lord! I don't like having S. Florida temps without a beach and ocean to go to .....not worth it to me!!

Hey Heather! Yes - isn't central Illinois wonderful in the summer! Today, it is supposed to be 98 here and enough humidity to make a potential heat index up in the teens. Hopefully, we will get the predicted rain tonight.
Glad to hear you are able to make it back on the treadmill. It has been so hot, that when I want to walk I have been going over the gym I belong to that is about 5 minutes from the house. They have one of those nice, rubberized walking/running tracks on the upper level. Not much scenery, but it sure beats being outside!
Hope you are having a good day!

I walked 15 miles last week....may not sound like much..but it is 15 miles more than I had been doing...haha. So I gained 2 pounds after all that....today I am back to where I started. Jeez. What's up with that?

HHOOOOTTTTT and humid today. Lady Di...has to be in the the teens...and I hope we get the rain also.

NIce you have a track to walk to. I love the rubberized tracks..beats the uneven roads..but I do like walking in the parks where there is no one to bug you...dogs and stuff I mean...
