Hi Everybody, I have not posted in a while and time sure flies. My husband Fred received his kidney transplant on New Years Day this year and is now just 3 months post transplant. He is doing good and was discharged from the transplant clinic just last week. He will have his first visit with his original nephrologist on May 2nd. His creatinine is steady at 1.5 and they are not sure if it will drop any lower or not. The only ongoing concern that we have is the bubbly urine that he always has. When he was first diagnosed with CKD it was from our bringing up the bubbly urine. His recent urine test are all negative for protein and the transplant nephrologist says that its nothing to worry about since it is negative for protein yet he can't explain why he has the bubbles so of course we are still concerned. Do any of you have this or have an idea of what it could be? We plan to ask his original nephrologist at our visit on May 2nd. |

Tara, do not concern yourself with this. You are the support he has and you don't want to worry yourself sick over this. I know that it is hard, but I would not worry unless the doctors say there is a reason to worry. Maybe he just has bubbly urine, no matter what. I hate to see you fret so much over this.

It gladdens my heart to hear that your husband got a new kidney and is doing fairly well. I hope that the doctors can figure the cause of his problem and that it is nothing to be worried about. I do not have any experience to share, but I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Many hugs and best of wishes.

Hi Tara, this was a big concern for me as well. Had very bubbly/frothy urine prior to tx and it returned a few months post-tx. I have urine tests weekly and no protein in the urine. I haven't bothered to figure out the cause of the bubbliness but since it's not protein and my levels are stable, I'm not concerned and neither is my neph. If you're concerned just get urine protein test done on a regular basis.
