hi.. i have this one question, and thought maybe this would be the right place to post it. On my chuch mostly everyone is doing a fast for 21 days. I really dont want to miss out on it. they do it every year. i have done it before, but last year i did not. i guess i was kinda afraid it would have a reaction or something like that with all the meds i must take. have any of you done a fast like this before, like after transplant? any thoughts would be helpful. ideas? anyone?

Hi Andrea, Some of our meds we have to take with food. I personally don't think it will be good for you to fast for 21 days. I would recommend that you check with your transplant team. You might lose certain minerals, etc. that your body needs. Take care, Meagan

Hi Andrea I would imagine that you could get very sick. Your body will be taking in medications and have no way to process the side effects. Eating healthy foods helps your body stay healthy. Without food and just meds and water, I would imagine you could end up in critical condition. I would talk to your doctors.

I would bet that your doctors will veto your fasting. Too risky!

Wise choice Andrea. Can't imagine that your fellow churchgoers would want to put you at risk by participating in the fast. I am sure they want to have you healthy and around for a long time!
