Today I was trying to do too many things online (as usual) and I made a big boo boo. Before getting upset, I took a moment and sat there and just observed the silence. I then came up with this response to my mistake. "By forgiving yourself you open up the door to your soul." This thought definitely helped me to look at my little mistake in a different light.

You did just the right thing. I tend to react first, then think, but since I've been sick, I've really had to tone this down. Getting upset gets me out of breath, as I'm sure you remember. Now, I really try and settle myself, even if I make a mistake. None of us are perfect, so we do need to give ourselves a break!

My wife tells me that I still get upset, but I think that I have a tendency not to sweat the little things as much anymore. (Actually, she would probably disagree with me now, LOL!!) I am with the living part, it's the learning part I have trouble with.

I love your new quote also. It is so true, as blaming ourselves, ways our souls down. Slams the door shut... I also use to sweat the small stuff instead of taking a moment, walking away, counting to ten,(50) I would be knee deep in a hissy fit before I knew it. Many self-help books later, I learned not to react. I don't always use the tools I learned, most of the time I do try. Love, Kate |

Ris'e, Forgiving yourself is a very powerful emotion as you can tell. I can only share my own experience with forgiveness. When I experience forgiving myself, that is true forgiveness without guilt which could enter only if I let it, I remain positive, allowing other positive thoughts to enter creating an entirely powerful now. Only outside thoughts can destroy the now, and that's ok too, because having that contrast and knowing it exists helps me get back into the now. Karen states this so well about blaming ourselves, slamming the door shut. Blame is an emotion further separating yourself from our source energy, our creator. I recognize as God. This is the slamming of the door of our awareness, our "now. " God does not lay blame, therefore there is nothing to forgive. Anything and everything negative is not of our creator, nor does it bring us closer to him, and isn't our desire to become closer a worthy goal? I believe not only is this a worthy goal, but the ultimate goal, the reason why I'm here, my purpose. Your post brought us all closer. It was a gift. Thank you. You are appreciated.
