Last night I was invited to Intermountain Donor Services annual volunteer appreciation dinner in Salt Lake City. It was the first time I've stood in the midst of so many organ recipients and it was truly awe inspiring.

My biggest take away was HOPE. One gentleman received his second heart transplant a couple of years ago and his 13 year old daughter had also had a heart transplant just last year - THREE heart transplants within the same family. Amazing.

I ate dinner with Jason who received his new heart in March of this year after waiting nine months. I also met the mother of a 19 year old young man who, upon his death, unflinchingly and with tremendous courage agreed to donate his organs - heart, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, liver. I was riveted and tremendously moved by every story and wanted to hear them all. What an evening!
