I found this wonderful forum in February when my dear friend was preparing to be listed for a heart at Miami Jackson. In the meantime he participated in a heart stem cell program Miami Jackson/University of Miami and improved dramatically until the beginning of Decamber when things began to decline.

Fast forward to Tuesday when he was placed on a heart pump and went into kidney failure and told he may not leave the hospital this time. He is 51yrs old and also severely diabetic.
He is very strong despite being so ill and has come out of liver failure and kidney failure before. Sure enough, his liver and kidneys thank goodness are now functioning on their own.
He is still on the heart pump and clearly critically ill. I drove down again yesterday and much to everyone's surprise got right through and into the room (LOL). He looks GOOD, honestly, not like a sick person at all. He is tired and so very weak and confused.

I'm not sure what the next step is. He says they are sending his blood to the transplant doctors to see if he is stable enough to get the transplant process started again. He also says the Stem cell doctor said there is still hope his heart will kick start again and not to give up on that.
His family is more grim. They say it is just a waiting game.

My glass is always half full. But, he would sure appreciate your prayers and any positive thoughts.
Thanks :-)

Thank you all so very much. His name is Greg and I will also thank you on his behalf. He is fortunate to have a loving and supportive family around him as well.

Having this forum over the past year has given me the emotional strength to lift him up and still realize the fragility of his world right now. I wish I knew how to adequately articulate my gratitude for that ....

Thank You (((HUGS)))
