Hi everyone, Please say prayers for my lifelong friend who has found out she has a rare cancer. They say it's an early invasive cancer whatever that means. She is a 15 year kidney transplant survivor thanks to her gift of life from her loving husband. She told me that this is not related to her medications. Thank you, Meagan

Hey Meagan, Prayers from Louisiana for your friend. Tell her to try to stay positive as she is able to! I know people that have beat it, when Drs. gave them little hope. Love, Kate |

Meagan: I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer makes me so mad. Maybe since they caught it early they can stop it and she can live for many more years. I will pray for her and her family. God Bless!

Thank you Karen and Kate. I spoke to her this morning and she says she really appreciates the prayers. She was stunned when the doctor told her and I was flabbergasted the doctor didn't tell her to bring her hubby in who was sitting in the waiting room. She told me she felt like she was far away and his voice was coming from a distance. Obviously this was due to shock. I am trying to get her to find another doctor because this doctor of hers is going away and talking about a December appointment - come on - really?? I said to her maybe he doesn't think it's not fixable and that it can wait. I feel bad for her that she has been put in this position of having to wait. Maybe this is a good thing? I certainly hope so. I remember when I got the news of my heart. I was alone with no clue as I had gone for an echo straight from work. The cardiologist said to me, "You have an enlarged heart and here are some pills". Then he sort of threw in "Uh - and maybe you should take two weeks of work". Some doctors do need to brush up on their bedside manners. The next day I went into work and ended up in the ICU. This is all in my story which I am currently working on. It's rather long and I hope it won't be too boring. I am not allowing myself to think anything but positive thoughts. I have known her since I came to Canada from England when I was 19 years old and she was my roommate. We have been friends every since and even had our babies almost at the same time.

Meags, I sure wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. I don't know what to think about your friends personality challenged doctor. Early invasive cancer sure does sound vague to me. Prayers and best wishes to you and your friend. Stay positive. cpa

FYI Meagan, Invasive Cancer: "Cancer that has spread beyond the layer of tissue in which it developed and is growing into surrounding, healthy tissues. Also called infiltrating cancer." Many prayers are being sent out for your dear friend, lit'l lady. Ol' Bob

Bob, thanks so much for explaining this to me. So I wonder why her doctor is procrastinating? I would think he would want her in right away. He did mention that once he starts the surgery it may be necessary to remove the lymph nodes depending on how far it has advanced. Prior to this news he operated on her for pre-cancerous cells and told her he had got them all and she was free and clear ... duh. Bob, thank you also for the sparkling roses. I will send them to her in an e-mail. She loves roses. Chuck, Rise', everyone - Thank you so much for all of your support and allowing me to get things off my chest. It's giving me the strength I need to be strong for her. Chuck, you are right, I think her doctor is definitely personality challenged. Thanks for listening to me rant. It helps. I am hoping this is all a bad dream.
