Hi all, Sorry it's been awhile, things are staying busy as we educate others on the issue! Just wanted to share a couple new videos from DLI camp. We finally put our beloved Steve Ferkau into a video format to share his amazing story about his lung transplant and cherished donor, Kari. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvxpyfZ9Rsk On a lighter note, we recently put our campaign mascot, Morgan D' Organ to work on a short, fun spot that spoofs the popular Subway commercial, while calling attention to Donate Life Illinois' current campaign goal of registering 5 million residents by April 30, 2009. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4845m2a6OY Enjoy and feel free to pass the links around!

Dearest Scott Your videos are Spectacular and that is an understatement. If every state had someone like you creating videos, our organ donation rate would be extremely high. I absolutely love love love Steve's video about Kari. Classic! I am going to add both Videos to my signature. Bravo in the talent and creative Dept.

Thanks so much Risa, much appreciated. That's really the key too, these videos didn't cost a great deal to make. It's all about getting stories like Steve's front and center.

I'm not sure what they cost -- I know the "talent" worked for free... Love, Steve (I'll have more to say later, of course...)

Dear Scott I know nothing about making videos. I have an idea for a video for you. I would like to create another Gift of Life forward and share TransplantBuddies and Donate life along with your videos in the email. Would there be a way where you could create a video with Steve or someone that you know who receives the Gift of Life forward email and the person is sitting at their computer, receives this Amazing email and becomes inspired and reads it out loud? What do you think? I think if you could make this sort of a video it will catch more people to watch the video rather than reading a long email. Any thoughts?

AWESOME!!! Scott - these are great videos!! I loved them!! Steve's video is soooo compelling. I loved the black and white portion. Steve - you were brilliant as always. I never get tired of your story or the pictures. You always make me smile! Risa - I love your idea! I hope that it can become a reality! Thank you all! I wish it were possible to have something like this on every college and high school campus in this country. Can you imagine the impact it would make on organ donation. Any thoughts on how to launch a nationwide campaign or am I just dreaming?!?!? Thank you for all that you do to help those of us that need organs get them. It means so much to know that people are out there fighting for us. I can't wait to join the fight!!! God Bless!

Risa - Let me throw it back at the team and get some ideas churning. Karen - You're not dreaming at all. HRSA, DLA and OPO's across the country are deep in the mix of launching a 2009 Campus Challenge, which will be a big national effort to engage campuses across the country. I've been sitting in on one the strategy leadership team and I look forward to seeing how it all pans out. It is a bit tough as each state has different capabilities, but hopefully it's a step forward and progress for the nation as a whole. You're absolutely right, together we can make an enormous difference. Hopefully we're setting an example that Donate Life America and others on the national level can follow. Thank you both for the feedback and comments. Steve - I thought your "talent fee" was getting to spend an entire Sat. with me?! Ha.

Hey Scott... I guess I would owe you then... I had a wonderful experience with you and the camera and sound guy... It is kinda funny -- we scheduled about two hours to shoot the video... Granted, a lot of walkers, joggers, segwayers, noisy fall leaves and birds got in the way -- but when I told people that two hours quickly turned into over four, most were surprised that it only took you four hours to get me speaking on topic... Thanks again... This meant the world to me... I reposted about this in the "Transplant Exchange Forum" -- I posted the video on Revive Hope this morning... You guys rock... Love, Steve
