Hello Rise.

Guess there are no coffee lovers on this website, since you posted this 6 months ago and no responses? Count me as one. I start the morning with a large cup of black coffee and the newspaper on my Trekdesk for my first treadmill session of the day. I have 2 lungo's with heavy cream with breakfast. I have 2 more lungo's with heavy cream as a mid-morning snack. That's it for me for the day.

I love coffee! I even drink a cup before I go to bed
Has absolutely no effect on my sleep.

Wow, if I drank coffee at night, it would take me forever to get to sleep! I drink 2 or 3 cups in the morning and I am done. However, sometimes at night, I drink decaf tea. That may change as the weather gets colder. My wife likes a cup after dinner in cold weather.

When I first found out I had kidney disease and was counceled about what foods to eat, Kaiser gave me a booklet with food/drink recommendations. Interestingly, it didn't contain any info about coffee (I was drinking a pot a day - 11 cups/day). I discovered the USDA web site (below) and found that 1 cup of coffee (6 oz) with about 1/2 oz of milk contained about 100mg K so I was getting more than half my daily allowance of 2000mg this way. Needless to say I switched to green tea and from milk to rice dream (for cereals) which reduced my K intake enormously. Now I only drink coffee occasionally when I go to a restaurant or to a friend's house who's having coffee.
You can find the amount of nutrients in many foods and drinks at the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference web site: (http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/index.html)

I enjoy coffee since the third day after my OLT procedure at UCLA Medical Center. I am now drink 2-3 cups of fine coffee daily without complications. Life is good even since. Cheers

I'm also a coffee drinker. I find it does wonders for the Prograf-related headaches that most transplant patients tend to struggle with. No more than 1 or 2 cups a day for me, though
