A letter from our CEO to Stonyfield Consumers

Dear friends,

As a valued Stonyfield consumer, I wanted to reach out to you personally to inform you of a recent issue with our YoBaby Pear/Peach 4 oz. 6-pack yogurts. The health and safety of the people who eat our products are at the forefront of every step we take in our yogurt making process. This is especially true with the products we make specifically for babies and children. That's why, when we discovered that there was a possibility of products contaminated with coliform, we immediately took action.

On April 25, 2014, we issued a voluntary public recall of 188 4 oz. 6-packs of Stonyfield YoBaby yogurts from a total of 122 Target and Walmart stores due to the possibility that a very small number of those yogurts might be contaminated. A list of potentially affected stores is below.

The possibly affected products - YoBaby Pear/Peach 6-pack cups - UPC 052159701161 all have a code date of June 5 2014. These products could have only been purchased on or after April 23, 2014.

At the time of the recall, we had not received any complaints of illness or any other concerns from our customers or consumers, and very few products made it to store shelves. We chose to call back the product as a precautionary step.

If you purchased any of these products, please return any open or unopened containers to the store for a full refund. No other Stonyfield products were affected by this recall.

We're currently awaiting test results to know more about the type of coliform, and we'll communicate what we learn on our website as new information arrives.

As a father of young kids, I understand how upsetting an issue like this can be. And I want to assure you personally that as soon as the problem was identified, we took action. And we're now developing even more rigorous food safety protocols moving forward.

Sincerely,

Esteve Torrens
