....please share yours. Whilst randomly searching on the Internet, I discovered this attached pic of a Mexican type saddle decorated with silver. This instantly brought back fond memories of those Saturday Matinees and the Rivoli Theatre in San Benito Texas many, many years ago [circa 1950]. Movie hero Roy Rogers most always had a saddle similar to this one on his trusty horse Trigger. NOTE: "God gave us memories so that we can have roses in December" Ol' Bob

As a child my mum and dad would take my sister and i to Blackpool for the day on the train,to go on the beach and funfair. We were also treated to the circus at the Blackpool Tower. Fond memories! Nicola x

Ol' Bob - remarkable piece of craftsmanship. Regretfully not many people here will recall Roy & Dale along with Sky King, Cisco Kid (not Gregg),Long Ranger & Tonto and don't forget Gene. Nicola, there will be a day when you can take your niece there and share those memories.

When I lived in South Texas, there was a radio station in Mexico (otherwise known as a border blaster) that showed the old serials, the Cisco kid and Roy's adventures. My mother would tell us of the time she met Gene Autry when she was a child. She was so thrilled.

South Texas !! Frank, I was born near San Benito in south Texas, went to high school in La Feria. Back during the earlier years, these Hollywood cowboy stars would bring their horses onstage at local theatres whilst on tour promoting their various movies. They rode passenger trains from town to town. Sweet memories Ol' Bob

Bob, We lived in Weslaco in the late 70s and early 80s. It is not to far from San Benito and La Feria at all. When I was growing up, the Valley was best known for the farm land and the winter Texans. Every year the Lions would sponsor a minstrel show with great performers that came down for the great weather. There was some man that sang "Ol' Man River" that knocked people's socks off!
