Cattleya Amethystoglossa This is a very unassuming, but important orchid. It is used as the basis of many of the showy and perfumed hybrids that are seen today. The smell of this orchid is not really sweet, but can only be described as "peppery"

This orchid makes me feel like I want to rescue it. It's not that it's not pretty, it is actually really beautiful! It just makes me feel like I should swoop in and save it for some reason. Hard to explain.
