Well, I have to say that I have really enjoyed the winter up to this point. We have had really mild temperatures. But that is in the process of changing. There is snow on the ground, and it is predicted that we will get 2-4 inches of snow before it is over. Yes, I understand that 2-4 is not much, but remember that during the first snowfall of the year, people just forget how they drove on this crap last winter, so it's like they have to learn all over again. I bet there will be 60-100 accidents in this area today.

Hi Cisco!
After reading your post, I am wondering if you live in the NorthEast? I live in NH and we have exactly what you are describing :-)
I hope you have a wonderful day and I want you to know how much I appreciate all of your posts, and this forum in general. It took a long time to find, but love reading daily what my transplant buddies are going through. Most times I can relate to their pain/struggles but if it does not pertain to me, I can always pray for them! I felt so all alone in this transplant world and to now have this hugh family ~ it just feels so comforting to me. Thanks for being you and sharing with us!

Well, it has not been as cool as they were saying it was going to be. It was supposed to be 9 last night. When I got up at 5 a.m., it was 15 degrees. We covered the greenhouse last night and it made a 5-6 degree difference in temperature internally Was 66 in there this morning.

You'all enjoy all of that white snow and slush up there whilst we enjoy all of this mild Winter weather here in S'E' Texas. Sun was even shining brightly today with temp in the low 70s.

C'mon now, I'm looking forward to some remarks regarding my post. Don't be bashful. hit me with both barrels. <chuckle>

Love you all :o)

Here in Kentucky we have been hit with some light snow recently but this was just after having some pretty mild temperatures. Here we get a little bit of everything and seem to be like a bouncing ball that goes up and down constantly in our weather in general. Weather here is like a box of chocolates, you don't know what you are going to get....

Ol' Bob, the upper Great Lakes and the East (I believe) are the ones getting blasted. I called up to my cousins yesterday and they had a foot of snow and it was still snowing. So I guess what I wanted to say was , "Na, na, it missed me!" LOL!!

Gregg, I was just joking about winters up north. At least you don't have to contend with these very hot humid summers like we do down here near the Gulf Coast.

Love pics of beautiful winter scenes up north.

Bob, I am sure that your summers are pretty humid. You might be right as far as that is concerned, but our summers are hot and humid, too. What concerns me about this time of year is that we are just far enough south that, although we do not get big snows, nor big rains, what we do get is all of the crap in between, like sleet and freezing rain. That is not as much of a problem as it was before because last winter, I bought a gas generator. Now, if the price of gas would just drop....................

We very seldom see snow in our area. We are spoiled with our very mild winter weather. Folks around here shiver when the Weatherman mentions "32 degrees"

Please pardon my verbal expression but I think this sucks....." Now, if the price of gas would just drop" Greed !!

Verbal expressions are a fact of life. This appears to be a case where they just might need to be made. I can handle cold weather, I can handle snow. What I can't handle is sleet and ice. It makes driving a real challenge and it isn't too good for keeping your power on, either.

"sleet and ice"

I was once driving down Interstate #25 south of Denver in my big truck, looked back in my rear view mirror and saw a huge sheet of ice flying off the side of my van type trailer, huge piece of ice, by golly. My trailer was 46ft long like the one in this pic.

Many times I would stop in at a Truck Stop and almost fall on my butt crawling down the steps on the side of my tractor to get to the ground due to the ice covered steps. My first thought would be "Damn! I've been driving on this stuff!"

I don't care for ice and sleet, either.
