Gastroparesis is a medical condition in which nerve or muscle gets damaged in the stomach that causes slow digestion and emptying, vomiting, nausea, or bloating.

Quick Facts

Also called delayed gastric emptying
Reduces the capability of the stomach to vacant its contents
Does not cause blockage/obstruction
Weakens muscle contraction
Slows down or sometimes completely stops the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine
Vagus nerve responsible for the movement of food gets damaged by some chronic illness or injury and the stomach muscles’ functionality gets disturbed
Results in derisory grinding of food by the stomach, and reduced evacuating of food from the stomach into the intestine
Best diagnosed by a test called a gastric emptying study
Usually is treated with nutritional support, drugs for treating nausea and vomiting

Is this something that you have tried or know of others who have tried it? I have gastroparesis, so I am curious. How did you learn of this? Thank you.

Hi Bobbiejo
It appears that the person above posted a website. Not sure why they left out the entire website but I would consider this spam.
sorry- just my opinion.

I looked up Trenical and it brings you to the website that this person is trying to promote. Since we are transplant patients, I would discuss anything you see online with your doctor. You have no idea the junk that is out there.

Thank you Rise for looking into this. I would not take anything without the approval of my transplant team first. I do not want to do anything that would put my transplanted organs at risk. I appreciate and value your opinion.

I looked it up myself. The site seems to make claims that are too puffed up without actually giving true links to studies that show what they say about the product is true. It mentions studies but does not actually show proof of them. Then it says it has no side effects and helps almost everyone with gastroparesis. It just does not seem right, especially as gastroparesis can have so many different causes and manifests itself differently in each person. It seems like a scam to me, and it is certainly not something I am going to risk trying. I do not think it worth mentioning to my doctors. I shall stick with what I am doing now.
