I ordered the cards and they are beautiful! I am sending one for my 6th month anniversary in August. They are sent to you with and email that gives you the address to send the cost of shipping to. It is on the honor system. Very trusting person. I highly recommend them.

My name is Steve. I ordered the cards last week. They were an answer to my prayers. I have struggled as to what would be appropriate and I just couldn't find the right card to send. I have just passed my 6th month anniversary from my heart transplant. I received an e-mail yesterday with the address to send the $5 to. Thank you Marina for posting the website.

They are beautiful. I saw the thread about them awhile ago, but never looked at them. Something else was going on, and I ran out of time. A donor's mom could put one of these cards on the shelf beside her child's photo. I have put letters from Jeremy's liver recipient, and one cornea recipient, that I've heard from so far, in a file. I put them away after I read them for safe keeping. Thank you Marina for posting about the cards. They touch the heart. Love, Kate

Hi, New here and came across this site as i was searching for inspiration on the internet on how to contact recipients of organ donations. I've wished so many times in the past year that there was a card available to send to the five people who received my son's organs on december 30, 2009. Does anyone know of a site for this? It has been a little over a year and i pray each night to hear from any of them but still there has been no word from any of the 5 recipients. TJ's mom |

Welcome to TransplantBuddies TJ's Mom. I'm Kate/Jeremy's mom, it has been almost 2 years for me. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. Words cannot describe. You have found the best place to be. I don't know where to find cards from donor family to recipient, but someone here will know or we will find out together. We have a few donor families here, they may know of a site for the cards. You will hear from everyone, as they see this post. We have the best folks here. We love to answer any question, we also love to ask them. I'm so glad to meet you, and look forward to knowing you and hearing about your precious TJ. Love, Kate

Hello and welcome TJ's Mom My heart goes out to you and your family. When you have the time please share with us more about your Son TJ. The best way to do this is by creating a new thread. You can post TJ's photo and share as often as you like. We have several Donor Families here and I would love to have you share and get to know you and more about your Son TJ. Sharing memories is good for all of us. The best way to reach out to your TJ's recipients is to contact your local organ procurement office in your town or the nearest transplant center that is closest to you. They would be able to direct you to the nearest organ procurement office that specializes in connecting recipients and donors. Each organizations have their own rules. A special dedicated card from a Donor Family to a Recipients sounds like a beautiful idea. There have been several donor families who have written letters to recipients but there is no card in honor of this special request. Please tell us your first name or nick name. Sending you a special hug from my heart to yours. Rise'

Hello TJ's Mom, How are you doing? Have you heard from any of the recipients yet? I hope so. I would keep contacting the agency that you used to assist you...and continue to write the recipients notes, too...through the agency. I heard from most of ours early on, but haven't heard anything in a while....I think I'll write them again to see how they are doing. I am very sorry that your son had to go home so soon. with love, Kristen

I'm so glad I came upon this thread! I am a little over a year post transplant and the first thing I wanted to do was contact my donor's family as soon as I was able. However, I hesistated because I just wasn't sure how they would feel about this. I didn't want to intrude on their loss. My donor was so young and I just couldn't imagine the pain they were going through. I now realize that this was backwards thinking and that hearing from me may actually help in there grief. If not, at least I'll know and respect that. But if it helps them, it would be fantastic! God Bless you all!
