Samantha

Last week I had the honor of doing a presentation on organ donation to 400 high school juniors -- we do the presentation with a donor family member and a recipient presenting... Last week I had the honor of presenting with the Dad of the girl pictured above...

Her name was Samantha... I posted about her today at Revive Hope --

my post is titled Samantha

Thanks so much, Risa, for always commenting on my blog!!! And thanks, Bob -- she truly was a beautiful lit'l lady...

Much like both of you, I love meeting donor family members -- it's an honor to share their stories about their loved ones -- and it's an honor to help spread them around...

Thanks again Bob & Risa...

Love,

Steve

Thanks so much for reading Samantha's story, Kathy!!!

She was absolutely beautiful -- and she still is since she's on so many minds and in so many hearts...

Sam's Dad noticed so many parallels between Sam and my Kari -- I did too -- which made presenting with him extra special... He told a powerful story about a beautiful girl...

Love,

Steve

Steve:

Somehow I missed this post, but today I saw it. It's funny because I have been a little down today. Lots going on in my family and the agony of waiting sometimes leads to lonely days. I must have been meant to read this today because although it is a terrible tragedy - Sam's smile and her giving spirit made me smile. I realized that there is nothing to be down about when there are people like Sam and Kari in our world. Two beautiful young women that were thoughtful and kind enough to think of others as they signed their donor cards. They never thought that they would die so young, but what they did has affected more people than we will every know. What I love so much about organ donation is that it not only touches the recipient, but it touches whole families. It touches friends and people that we least expect. It truly is a miracle and I have so much respect for these two young women. I am sure that they are able see all the good they have done and I know that they smile each and every time one of their gifts makes someone else smile. :-) Like me today!

Thanks Steve! Thanks for sharing Sam's story with us!

God Bless!

Thanks, Karen...

You always have the nicest, kindest things to say... Thanks for reading about Sam -- her father was a powerful speaker, and she was absolutely precious...

I hope they're watching down over us -- over the people they helped... I get a "nudge" at the funniest times -- a thought to look up at something, or pick something up -- and so often it is something that has deep meaning to me, and lets me see her smile...

It's hard to think that you're waiting for your Sam or Kari -- but whomever becomes your donor will not die because you needed them... But you will live because of them...

Love,

Steve
