Recently I got a letter from the son of my donor. I've got to say that is a humbling experience. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to know a little about my donor.

He was from India and was here to celebrate his granddaughter's third birthday. He was a year younger than me, was a business man, had two sons and four grandchildren.

As I told the family, I think of him everyday. There is a place in heaven for him and his generous family.

So happy you heard from your donor family! I finally sent my letter and am hoping to hear from my donor's family. I know this can take some time and they may choose not to correspond, but I'm hoping.

Hi Joe,

I'm so glad you heard from your donor's son. Thank you for sharing it with us. I feel humbled when I hear from CJ,the man that received his liver from Jeremy. I also hear from Mona, a great lady that is able to see again after receiving her cornea from him.

I had to write everyone first, five months post op and I just knew I was going to make them think I was crazier than I am. HA! Check out "Five Letters" thread, you'll see.

I hope to hear from the others, I imagine them living happy lives. I wrote to them every six months at first. I haven't written this year because I've let time get away. I think it may be the same with recipients and donors alike.

thhout, it does take some time, I am hoping you get a letter soon!)

Joe. so glad that you heard from them....I pray for the day I hear from my son's recipients...but at this point, after 17 years, I doubt I ever will. So...I take solice in knowing that I have all of you here to "send me letters"
