I had a goal of how much muscle I wanted to gain by June the 6th. I have all ready reached it. On March 17th, I was 180.6. Today, it was 191.6. Of that, on the 17th, 140.8 was muscle, 39.8 was fat. Today, 42.8 was fat, an increase of 3 pounds. My fat free mass during the same time period went up to148.8#, which accounts for the rest of the 11 pound gain in body weight. I put on 8 pounds of muscle since March 17th!! Must be the luck o'the Irish. (Really, I am not even Irish, but don't tell anyone--I wanna ride this one out!)

I have been committed many times, Dottie. I will have to think about that one. It is working and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I always say. I may try to pick up some more muscle before I start cutting.

Cisco

I would like to see pictures when Lady Di has some extra time.

A few weeks ago, I created a link on this forum for pictures but nobody saw it.

Cisco:

Congratulations!! You are awesome dude!! :-)

You give me inspiration too! When I am tired and don't want to work out I always think of you and down in the basement I go to do my workout. I am working out 5-6 days a week for an hour at a time. I can do all kinds of things now - weights, treadmill, and my workout videos and DVD's. It feels good to be so active again!

Keep up the great work!! :-)

God Bless!

Cisco:
You are an inspiration. I read your thread every week. Over the past almost one year, I tried to do the exercise and loss weight. I spent 3-4 days a week for 5 hrs in Gym. It is very hard to loss every pound. Finally I get the point that I can do it. Last year, my weight wast 125 lb. I am 5'1''. Today it is 115 lb and I have muscle on my legs now. I have no problem to work 16 hr shift.

My new invention:
Mix V8 vegetable juice with cranberry juice. It's delicious and healthy. And I don't have to spend too much time in cooking.

Whatever works for you is good Joan, whether we are talking about food or exercise. What I have tried to do lately is to decrease the amount of repetitions and increase the amount of weight I am using. I have also tried to limit the workout periods to 45 minutes. I also brought back circuit day. these things have combined to make it easier to gain muscle. (That and my favorite part of bulking up--the eating LOL!!) I make use of my microwave for breakfast and lunch. It is only dinner time that myself or my wife has to do some cooking. Good luck to you all.

Well, when I woke up this morning and weighed, I was 195.2. That means that I have gained between 14 and 15 pounds in the last 2 months. I go on Monday to be weighed on that Tanita scale, which gives body fat %, body fat weight, lean muscle mass weight, water weight, etc. Hopefully, we are talking another two or three pounds of muscle, at least, which would give me 10 or 11 pounds of muscle out of 14 or 15 pounds gained. (Yes, I am setting my goals high) The guy who weighs me on that is going to be done as of next week. Hopefully, I can have my progress checked at my regular gym. Obviously, I cannot use the same scale, but maybe we will get it worked out anyway.

Well, my report for that weighing did not go as well as I would have liked, but I am at it again. I am hitting the weights harder than ever. Eight repetitions with almost all exercises. More weight. Less time lifting, a lot more time resting. At least a couple of minutes between sets. Feels good. Have started to really hit back and legs harder than I had before as they will take more weight. Lats are growing, along with chest and shoulders. I am trying to figure out some better leg exercises that will challenge more.
