LOL!! From what you have said in the past about hoola hoops, you had better stay away before you hurt yourself. There are some things that I have been encouraged to do in the past to help with fitness like skipping rope. I don't really want to tell you what it looks like when I try to skip rope.LOL!!!

I actually used my weighted hoola around my neck which was a mistake. I am actually quite good Not to brag. I am trying to get back my third grade abilities LOL

Today I spent 45 minutes hoola hooping LOL

loved skipping but I would always overdo and then end up with shin splints. Love jumping in college. I would go out of my dorm room and skip and skip and cough and cough (CF therapy).

I am now discovering that my weighted hoola is not so heavy and they sell heavier ones. I am going to buy another one.

SO darn cool. I do not think I could picture you using a hoola.

Rise:

Very cool! I didn't know that hooping was a way of exercise. I am going to look into it further!

Rise, I could never get my head around the picture in my head of me hoola hooping. That would just be too much.

Cisco- Sure you could do it. LOL

Karen- you would love it especially since you love dancing.

Today I am going to buy a weighted hoola hoop. the hoola hoop I am currently using is not really a hool hoop. It is an exer- hoop

It bends and is made of rubber. It is really for working out your arms. Since it looks like a hool hoop I am able to use it for this

I also have two kid size hoola hoops but they are super light.

Yes folks, I am going to join in the craze and hopefully in a few months there will be local classes around near my town.

My hoola-sizing update

I am hooa-sizing daily. It is becoming easier and soon it will not be such an intense workout. The first few days I would break into a sweat and today after almost one hour, hardly any sweat.

I am happy I discovered something really C@@L about hoola-sizing that I never knew before.

When I place the hoola hoop around my hips, I spin the hoola hoop from right to left. I can keep the hoola on for a long time with no trouble.

It just occurred to me the other day that I could hardly spin and work the hoola from left to right.

That is when I had my AH HA moment and realized that because I am a lefty that is why I can spin from right to left with no trouble because my left side of my body is stronger.

Then the challenge began. Two days ago, I started to spend a half hour practicing hoola-sizing from left to right. Today I can keep the hoola on in this position without it falling off my waist. I am still rusty but a big improvement.

I am now a firm believer that hoola-sizing is great for balance, toning and so much more.

I just came across this post. Ironically I recently saw hula hoops for sale (the child ones) and just for fun I tried one out in the store. (I used to love hula hooping as a child but hadn't thought about it in forever!) I could NOT keep the thing from falling to teh ground.

I have never seen weighted hula hoops or knew thety made any hoops for adults! Where would one go to buy an adult size hoop?
