The Alexander Technique can be extremely helpful – it's a self-care method that can help those who suffer from a variety of mechanical back-related and postural issues - it's method greatly improves body mechanics, alignment, movement and postural patterns and relieves and prevents any future back pain episodes.
The Alexander Technique is a British-based approach popular in Europe – it’s a non-invasive, drug-free solution to chronic back-related issues, well-known for solid, effective back pain prevention and postural instruction. The New York Times recently covered landmark British Medical Journal (BMJ) research showing the Alexander Technique had an 86% decrease in pain for it’s 579 subjects who were experiencing chronic back problems (BMJ, 8/08).The Alexander Technique will benefit anyone looking to improve their alignment, body mechanics, posture and movement patterns – the technique improves one's "use" of their body -- better sitting, standing, lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, sleeping, and breathing skills are learned in an interactive format including special exercises and practical tools to better health. Tips are also be given for those looking to improve their hobbies and fitness activities (i.e. golf and tennis games) through better habits of posture and movement.
