Here I sit on my daughter and son-in-law's riding mower. (attached pic). Their home is located on 28 acres in central Texas. No!! I'm not trying to mow the gravel in the driveway, by golly !!! It certainly screwed up my head, with all of those steering handles on that mower. Heck, I already have a screwed up head. Right? This pic was made Tuesday afternoon 10/28 when we drove up there after my sweetie Darlene and her close friend Kathy returned from the Gambling Casino in Louisiana, Broke !! Please check out the rolls of hay in the backgound. These were harvested from the meadow out front of their house. Ol' Bob P.S. Not too shabby for a ol' guy who rec'd a heart transplant almost 18ys ago.

I just want to share with all of my transplantbuddies, my activities post transplant, since I am fully retired from trucking over-the-road in those big ol' trucks. If I'm not on my trusty lit'l laptop 'puter at home...... ......I'm down at the local Magnolia Diner(Wireless Access), corresponding with my many pals. During my endeavors on my laptop, I sometimes take a short break, to drink a beverage from my wonderful Transplantbuddies mug. Isn't this mug awesome? I sometimes perform for my many friends when I'm in the mood. If it weren't for my many organ transplant pals and some of my dear organ donor family friends, I might possibly be living a very boring life. Each and everyone of you "Light Up My Life". You are all very special to me. God Bless Ol' Bob

The human body contains approximately 6 quarts (or 5.6 liters) of blood. In one day, your blood travels nearly 12,000 miles. Your heart beats around 35 million times per year. Your heart pumps a million barrels of blood during the average lifetime -- enough to fill three supertankers. Ol' Bob

You can see by this, I do get a wee bit bored at times, by golly. I have been comparing the size of England to Texas._______ A1 Freeway England- 409 miles compared to Interstate#10 Freeway Texas- 879 miles._______ Population of England- 60 million+_________Population of Texas- 23 million+_________ The A1 is the longest numbered road in the UK at 409 miles (658 km) long. It connects London, the capital city of the United Kingdom and of England, with Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. For much of its path it follows the historic Great North Road. _______ In the U.S. state of Texas, Interstate 10 is the major east-west Interstate Highway in the Southern United States. It runs east from El Paso, Texas, near the border with New Mexico, through San Antonio and Houston to the border with Louisiana near Orange, Texas. At just under 879 miles (1,410 km), the length of Interstate 10 crossing Texas Ol' Bob

Nic, I have many Cyber pals there in England and they are always sending pics and info about England. For example, many people do not know there is a replica of the famous airliner Concorde built from wicker, on display a Manchester Airport. This is truly awesome. Some of my friends in Newton-le-Willows sent this. Ol' Bob

Nic, one of my very closest heart pals Andrew Wilson was a devoted Wigan "Warrior" fan before his passing away in 2005(age 27yrs old). I dearly miss my pal Andrew and his wonderful emails. This pic is posted on his website http://www.transplantsunited.com/ along with this quote "Myself Pictured with my mum and dad At Wigan's old Central Park- as a part of my 18th Birthday celebrations I was invited to meet the Wigan squad - Pictured holding the Silk Cut Challenge Cup." I couldn't help but to join this conversation. Nic, I am a huge Arsenal fan and absolutely love the Premiership Football league. My business partner is from Kettering Town, their football club is in first place in the Blue Square league. As an Arsenal fan, I can say that ManU and Chelsea have been a major pain in my side! LOL. I also work for a company here in the states that has a sister company in Market Harborough in Leicester. I hope some day to come a visit the UK, I want to attend a few football matches and meet some of the friendly people. Go Gunners! LOL

Hey Nic, if I ever get over, perhaps your dad and I can go fishing, I love to flyfish especially. I always root for the England national team. Football (soccer here in the US) is not that good, so I just watch and root for you guys! Wayne Rooney and John Terry and of course David Beckham are my favorites for England, even if they don't play for Arsenal.

I'm just sitting here this morning with ol' tyme memories flashing through my mind, whilst my sweetie Darlene has gone on her weekly shopping spree. One very cute memory that just came to me was the time my oldest daughter Cindy was just 12yrs old, trying her luck at water skiing. She lost her balance on the and fell to the water, still clinging to the ski rope. She was bouncing across the water and her lit'l bathing suit bottom was jerked down a bit. All we could see was her cute lit'l white hinney bouncing along. We still laugh at that cute scene, even though it was 36yrs ago. Cindy 4yrs old ....standing beside my lit'l 1949 Ford. Cindy 48yrs old Please check out her hand above my head. LOL Ol' Bob

We all seem to be doing OK over here in Texas. Darlene is loving her new vehicle, well new to her, by golly. It is a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. Pics attached... Her injured left elbow has almost fully healed since the auto accident. She now works at a local Laundromat. I go down there in the evenings and help her with the mopping and to carry the garbage out to the dumpster. Gives me some badly needed exercise, by golly. My belly is gettin' a wee bit big. LOL (my chest has fallen down to my drawers) haha!! My sweetie Darlene is my Guardian Angel. Ol' Bob <Life is Great>

I know that I seem to be getting off track with my own personal stories on this Blog, but I catch myself, counting my many Blessings since my heart transplant almost 18yrs ago. Without the very generous gift of my heart donor, I would not have been able to share these stories at all. My oldest grandson who is now 25yrs old, was just 7yrs old at the time of my heart transplant in 1991. He has now served almost 6yrs in the US Army, traveling to many parts of the world. Thanks to my heart donor, his loving compassionate family, my transplant team/medical staff and by the Grace of God, I can still witness my grandchildren grow to adulthood. I might not reply to each and every thread on this site but I do try my very best to read about all of you. I feel that I know many of you quite well and I am honored to be a part of this wonderful website. Ol' Bob

I certainly do not intend to sound as if I am boasting, but one of the most memorable events of my lifetime, happened back in 2005. This is also a very sad event, though. One of my very dear heart transplant pals in England, passed away July 7th 2005 there in London at the age of 27yrs old. Andrew Wilson was one of the worlds' very very first "Domino" heart transplant recipients, surgery performed at Harefield Hospital in London in 1987. I first met Andrew VIA emails in 2003, after seeing his amazing heart story on a British organ transplant website on the Internet. We then became great friends with daily emails swapped between each of us across the Atlantic Ocean, England and Texas USA. During my 2yr close friendship with my pal Andrew, I created a Organ Donation logo for tee-shirts, with one of my own personal sketch of a lit'l praying boy and sent one of these tee-shirts to Andrew. (See attached pic of logo) When my dear friend Andrew passed away, his parents laid him to rest in that very tee-shirt there in England. I rec'd this email from Andrew's parents shortly after his death:.......... " We have never told you about Andrews funeral service ,it was a complete tribute to Andrews life. All his friends were mentioned and there was a special tribute to you Bob from the vicar on how much you meant to Andrew. We had three of his own songs sung by two young female singers, and they went down very well.At the end of the service everybody in church applauded Andrew as he left the church. We decided it was fitting for Andrew to go to God wearing the t-shirt you sent him, with the praying child so they would all see it in HEAVEN"............. I was quite honored by this. It's been over 3yrs since Andrew's passing and I still dearly miss him and his wonderful emails. He was a wonderful young man with many wonderful talents, such as composing songs and poems. During our very short friendship VIA emails and phone calls, he created his own website, sharing his ideas with me and I sent some ideas to him. Just short of launching his website onto the Internet, he passed away. His wonderful parents launched his website onto the Internet 2 months later. http://www.transplantsunited.com/ You can see Andrew's beautiful headstone attached. I shall always remember my dear friend Andrew. Ol' Bob

Here's another very uncanny memorable moment in my life. Whilst I was attending the 2006 Transplant Games in Louisville Kentucky, I was very surprised to come in contact with some of my Floridian heart pals right out front of the beautiful Galt House Hotel. I had explained to my dear friend Adrienne that I would possibly be wearing blue jeans, white tee-shirt, and black western boots and to look for a big ol' ugly guy with a bushy mustache. We had never met before in the past. As I was walking across the street directly in front of this hotel with hundreds of folks milling around, I heard someone shout "Hey, Texas Bob, is that you?" I quickly turned around and discovered Adrienne, Bert and their family standing nearby. This was a great thrill to finally meet these fine folks face-to-face. Adrienne's hubby Bert's heart transplant story can be seen on this transplantbuddies website. http://www.transplantbuddies.org/html/life_stories.php#adrienne Attached you will see Adrienne and part of her family on the front row including her very cute grandson Ian at the Opening Ceremonies at Freedom Hall in Louisville Ky. Adrienne is on the lower far left of pic. I rec'd this pic of handsome Ian today from Adrienne. One of the highlights of the Games for me, was getting to meet television star Larry Hagman who had rec'd a liver transplant years earlier. You can see him onstage here showing his scars. This is a scene of the "Opening Ceremonies" at Freedom Hall ....and very happy me standing in front of the hall. Ol' Bob

I feel the urge to share this wonderful story with all of my transplantbuddies. I was sitting at one of our local restaurants over 2yrs ago, discussing organ donation and transplants with a few close friends. A lit'l lady and her husband were sitting nearby at another table. She overheard our conversation and turned to inquire "Sir, did I hear you correctly that you are a heart transplant recipient?" I replied "Yes, ma'am, I rec'd a heart transplant many years ago". She invited me to sit with them, then broke down in tears, sobbing, explaining that her 34yr old son Kenny was on the Waiting List for a heart transplant. I became acquainted with the family, attended a few of Kenny's benefits and was present at the hospital on the night of his badly needed heart transplant 2yrs ago. Kenny & wife Kenny recently celebrated his 2nd year post transplant. Sandy, her hubby and part of her family out for dinner with her son Kenny and his wife can be seen here. Sandy is proudly wearing her blue organ donation shirt. Kenny(brown shirt) looks in great shape post transplant. Sandy and I were discussing close friendships VIA emails this morning and she dropped this wonderful message on me. ________________________________ And you our Angel, are mine! Hope you have a Blessed Day full of laughter! Hugs to you and say hi to Darlene. Our life has been forever touched by your friendship. Hugs and love, Sandy ________________________________ True friends leave footprints on your heart. Ol' Bob

One of our own transplantbuddies members and a frequent visitor to the Forum, Bill Wohl http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2005-06-30/culture/have-a-heart/ He spends much of his time participating in biking marathons, advocating organ donation worldwide. .... Bill ....rec'd his donor heart from a very popular television stunt man, Brady Michaels... Brady .....and can be seen here with Brady's dad Stan. One of Brady Michael's very close friends Jesse Billauer http://www.jessebillauer.com/ wrote this poem for Brady after his terrible accidental death. Billauer suffered an accident at the age of 17 on March 25, 1996, hitting his head on a shallow sandbar after being knocked off his surfboard by a wave. The force broke his neck, severing his spinal cord at the C6 level and instantly rendered him a quadriplegic. Bill Wohl's friend Jesse Billauer wrote this poem for Bill's heart donor, Brady Michaels.__________________________ "The Man Who Flew, Was the Man I Knew, and Will Always Know Forever" When the news came about what happened to you I was shocked and stunned and did not know what to do I felt my heart drop to the floor I started to cry so I closed the door I said to myself "This can't be real" Brady's the man with a heart of steel how could somebody take him away? I reminisced about the day you showed me your world the world in the sky the place you lived and the place you wanted to die as we prepared to go into the plane I remember you telling me "Jesse this is going to be insane" so with a big smile cheek to cheek we were on our way to an unforgettable day so as the plane took off in route to our destination the fun we were about to have was my motivation as the door opened ready for us to jump out I was about to learn what Brady's life was all about are you ready one, two, three as we pushed away from the plane I entered a world I didn't know anything about but the good thing was I was with someone who did Brady Michaels the angel on my back making sure everything went right because of him I will always remember my first flight thank you Brady for all that you have done that day I went sky diving with you was so much fun you will always be a part of my memories till the day I die and when the time comes I will meet you in heaven where we both will fly. In loving memory of Brady Michaels, your friend forever February 29th, 2000 Written by Jesse Billauer Brady Michael's story: Brady Michaels, a stuntman who worked in television, commercials, film and exhibition, died Feb. 21 from massive head injuries resulting from a fall on location in Benson, Ariz. He was 36. He had worked as a tandem instructor in Zephryhills, Fla., and in California at Perris Valley and Skydive Elsinore. He was working to establish his own "Aerial Action Skydiving Show" featuring the latest in parachute flight maneuvers. An accomplished skydiver, he entered the Guinness Book of World Record in 1998, with a jump in Chicago in which 246 skydivers linked up for the largest freefall formation. From 1990 to 1993, he was stunt coordinator and high-fall specialist at Universal Studios in Florida. Ol' Bob P.S. Bill Wohl is forever thankful for Brady and his loving family and I am forever thankful for my pal Bill, coming into my life.

I've been quite busy here lately, having our lit'l castle high-powered spay washed and repainting our deck. Will attend a Safeway trucker's reunion Saturday with ol' retired truckers such as myself. Even though most of us are balding, toothless, walking on walkers and gettin' a wee bit overweight, we love to sit over coffee and reminisce over olden times. Many of us first met when we were in our mid 30's age wise. Rec'd email from my heart transplant pal Jill Edwards of England, and she has been invited to make a phone call to Tony Huesman of Akron Ohio, one of the longest living heart transplant recipients here in the States. I was instrumental in introducing these 2 fine folks VIA emails to each of them. Tony rec'd his transplant in 1978 and Jill rec'd hers in 1990 there in London at Harefield Hospital. Ol' Bob

It's always very traumatic to loose a parent. Both of mine passed away back in 1992 and 1998. They are laid to rest very near here, and when I take the time to visit their graves, I tend to joke with my Dad about his former car, a 1989 Oldsmobile that he purchased new. I still drive that very car(sentimental), and when I'm sitting near Dad's grave, I tell him: "Pop, there's your car, right there". Mom & Dad Mom and Dad both required heart bypass surgery later in life. '89 Olds The car that I mentioned above. My main purpose for posting this is to explain to all, that my reason for heart transplant in 1991, was a Hereditary issue. My oldest brother Clarence passed away in 1966 due to a massive heart attack, my oldest sister Bea rec'd a Pacemaker 12yrs ago and as I have stated above, both of my parents experience bypass heart surgery. I am now concerned about my own son Ronnie(47yrs old), even though he is quite healthy at this time. He has begun periodic Cardiac checkups for preventative measure. This makes me very happy. Ol' Bob

Nichola, I am 68yrs old, even have a 48yr old daughter. Still feel as if I am in my 30's, though. I even have a 26yr old grandson plus 9 other wonderful grandkids. Josh Josh is proudly serving in the US Army, stationed in El Paso Texas. He joined the Army straight out of High School and has already served overseas in South Korea and The Middle East. I am very proud of this lit'l guy, by golly. Without my lifesaving heart transplant over 17yrs ago, I would not have even known many of my grandkids. God Bless my heart donor and his family. Ol' Bob

Reason for concern about my dear friend Bobby B. This is a portion of a message that I rec'd from my long time friend Bobby this morning:______________ "Well, I am having a few checkups tomorrow at several clinics. My regular doctor has scheduled me for a Nuclear stress test with a heart & vascular doctor in the morning then on Wednesday a CTA scan. I guess it goes with the territory, I'll be 70 in Feb."____________ I first met Bobby in Elementary School in the early '50s. Bobby can be seen here in striped tee-shirt in wood-shop class in 1954 in San Benito Texas. We lost contact with each other for the next half century and luckily we met again in 2006 and had a wonderful reunion at a local restaurant in the small town where I reside Magnolia Texas. Robert(Bob)Beddoe is a retired teacher/educator and is also a published novelist. Bobby's novels can be seen here: http://www.amazon.com/Frontier-Passage-Robert-J-Beddoe/dp/059523514X I have certainly been Blessed to have such wonderful friends such as Bobby and many others along my journey in life. One of my very close friends here in Magnolia, Judge John Purvis will be donating one of his kidneys to his dear wife in January. Now, that is true love, by golly. John is in his 60's age wise and has been Magnolia City Judge for more than 25yrs. He even does a lit'l guitar pickin' in his pastime locally. Attached pic of me singing with Johnny and his son Steve pickin' their guitars, along with City Council member Patsy W. Please add John and his dear wife to your prayer lists. Thank you very much. Thank you all for your prayers. Judge Johnny is well loved in this area even though he is the Official Judge in traffic court here. He is very fair minded in his decisions and his dear wife is one of the sweetest lit'l ladies that I have ever known. She has been enduring those regular Dialysis treatments for many years. Hopefully this kidney transplant will put a welcome end to those (3 days per week) trips to the Dialysis Clinic. Bless you all for your prayers. Ol' Bob P.S. Johnny is a wonderful guitar picker, also.

I composed this analogy 8yrs after my heart transplant _____________________________ "One's life from beginning to end, is like a warm blaze in a fireplace from start to finish. Whenever a few logs are set ablaze, they seem to have a small gradual burn. When I see this, I am reminded of an infant crawling, then learning to walk alone. The flames seem to get bigger and burn more briskly. This again reminds me of a youngster growing and experiencing life as it is, gaining knowledge and growing to adulthood. At it's peak, the logs in the fireplace seem to emerge into a roaring flame. This brings to my mind, the fast pace part of life,in the years, when marriage, raising children, and working to keep life on track, takes up all of one's time. There never seems to be enough hours in the day. Life in this period, is fully roaring, with many responsibilities. But, like the fire in the fireplace, life can be very warm and satisfying, if one chooses to let it. Then, before you realize it, the logs begin a lower, more gradual burn, reminding me that with the children grown and out on their own, one may tend to slow his or her own pace down to a gradual, more peaceful life. Soon, the fireplace has only red hot coals, reminding me of retirement years. For extra excitement and a bit more happiness, one only needs to stir the red orange coals for a little flame. When the coals turn gray and cool, that means to me that we've gone to Heaven to meet our Creator. Our fire has burned out in this life........ One more thought comes to me, is that when I received a heart transplant 8 years ago, it was as if God simply, and with love,....threw another log on my fire.... __________________________ .....and very recently discovered that my analogy has been snagged off the Internet by a huge Methodist Church in Flagstaff Arizona and posted on their monthly newsletter back in August 2007 http://www.thumc.com/pdf/GriefShare/080107newsletter.pdf (just scroll down to page#3). I am thrilled that my analogy has been spread far and wide throughout the world. Many organ donation sites have also posted my analogy. Ol' Bob P.S. I will soon celebrate my 18th year post transplant, thanks to my wonderful heart donor.

I had a wonderful surprise last Saturday(a week ago). I attended a Safeway drivers reunion, drivers that I started driving with over 30yrs ago. Of course many of us are balding, toothless, overweight and on walkers since our younger, handsome days back in the '70s. <snicker> 25 ex-drivers attended plus a 90yr old former cafe waitress from one of our ol' tyme truck stop cafes. She was our favorite way back then. Maxine Scott is her name and she was truly thrilled to see all of her trucker friends, as we were her. I even did a lit'l guitar pickin' for the guys. Might post a few more pics after I place them in my 'puter. OK? Sixty of my Safeway trucking pals have passed away since 1974. I atttended many of their funerals. K.C. Lynn (in wheel chair) is now 89yrs old. We referred to him as "Daddy Rabbit" on the CB radio. Ol' Bob

When I moved away from Magnolia in 1995, I lived right on the lakeside of Lake Whitney near Hillsboro Texas at "Arrowhead Lodge". Lived there for 2yrs and helped to maintain the swimming pool in attached pic. For extra income, I washed dishes at their restaurant in Fri & Sat evenings. This is where I purchased the RV trailer that we now live in. My lit'l yellow Camaro was too small to pull the trailer to Magnolia, so I hired a fellow from Mineral Wells to pull it with his Dodge dually for $1 per mile. (total cost $186) I have owned this trailer for more than 13yrs. I moved back to Magnolia in 1997 because this is much closer to my Transplant Center. Just another chapter in my journey through life since transplant. Ol' Bob

2pm Saturday and I'm sittin' here waiting for my sweetie Darlene to return from her weekly shopping trip to WalMart. Just trying to compose a email to you that will be quite interesting to you, I hope. My pal Andrew Wilson's parents go to play Bingo quite often over there in England at the "Hippodrome Bingo Club". in Bristol England. http://www.rivabingo.com/find_a_club/specific_club_details/bristol (pic attached) I'm sure that you remember, Andrew passed away July 7th 2005 there in London. Andrew's mum and dad love to play Bingo. They have corresponded with me on a regular basis ever since Andrew's death in 2005. http://www.transplantsunited.com/ Andrew's Auntie Margaret sent a beautiful Christmas card to us just a few days ago. Darlene and I plan to send Christmas cards plus a small gift back to them this week. We have grown quite close to these wonderful folks in England these past few years, even call them on the phone from time to time. We truly love their British accent, by golly. Another pic attached of them touring America in 2006. Ol' Bob

We drove 100 miles over to Devers Texas Sunday morn to place new flowers on Darlene's Mom "Hattie's" grave. See attached pics...... Took her 78yr old Dad Elmer with us. NOTE: The date of birth 1887 on Darlene's Grandfather's headstone. The "Abshier Cemetery" has been designated a Texas State Landmark. Darlene's Mom passed away on New Years Day 1991 here in Tomball Texas. We then took Darlene's Dad Elmer to visit with his 87yr old sister "Goldie". He hadn't seen her for many years. They had a wonderful reunion. The "Abshier Cemetery" has been designated as a Texas State Landmark. NOTE: ...the date 1887 on Darlene's Grandfather's headstone. There are many headstones in there dating back to the mid 1800's. Ol' Bob

The reason for my skin cancer...... Transplant recipients commonly experience organ rejection because of this. "Rejection" means that the body's immune system attacks the donor organ's cells, reacting to them as if they were harmful. Medications that curb the immune system (called immunosuppressants) are essential for transplant recipients, because they prevent and treat rejection. The discovery of immunosuppressants — and the advances still being made — allow many transplant recipients to live longer, healthier lives.Nevertheless, immunosuppression creates a new set of problems. People with suppressed immune systems are less likely to reject their transplanted organs, but also less able to fight off harmful "invaders." This leaves them vulnerable to infections and some types of cancer. Immunosuppressive drugs (also called "antirejection drugs") can also cause other side effects. Doctors use different combinations of medications, and work to maintain a delicate balance in each patient, to try to reduce the chances that an organ will be rejected. Plus....... Too much exposure to UV sun rays in my earlier years during my trucking days. Ol' Bob

Waltzing with my dear Mother This attached pic was made at my wedding in May 1980 at my wedding reception. I hired a 5 pc band for that occasion and served catered Bar-B-Que dinners to over 75 folks at the "Always & Forever Wedding Chapel" in N'W' Houston near Hempstead Hwy & 34th St. My Mom passed away Nov 3rd 1992. This photo is titled "Waltzing with my Darling" I shall always remember my Mom coming to my bedside in the hospital pre-heart transplant, patting me on the hand, kissing me on the cheek and saying "Bobby Lloyd, Mom loves you very much". Do you remember Safeway Grocery Stores? I devoted over 16yrs of my life, driving Safeway trucks over the road, delivering various goods to these stores before my heart transplant in 1991. Safeway Stores Inc was once listed in the Guiness World Book as the largest grocery chain in the world. They even had stores throughout the world, in Germany, England, Australia, Hawaii and many other countries. Safeway even opened stores in Saudi Arabia for a short time back in the mid '80s. Safeway closed their stores in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas in the early '90s due to reorganization. A wonderful gift was recently presented to me by a dear friend, a Safeway jacket. This jacket is 25yrs old.(and a bit small on me) These jackets were given to drivers as "Safe Driving Awards". I was very lucky to have driven over 3 million miles without a accident during that 16yrs. Ol' Bob

Hi Janet, thanks for the personal email regarding my lack of comments lately on this site. For all who are curious about my absence lately, I have had many unexpected happenings in my life lately and these have not allowed me the time to be on my 'puter very often. Three recent funerals for very close friends have taken up much of my time, taking the time to offer my personal/spiritual assistance to all of the families involved. My sweetie Darlene rec'd followup surgery on her left elbow to repair a torn tendon, caused by that recent auto accident several months ago. As the old saying goes "When it Rains__It Pours !!" I too have been experiencing some severe muscle pain in my neck/shouder area, of which will be examined by by Primary Care Physician Monday morn 9:30am. My PCP's appointment book has been swamped for the past several days, resulting in my Mon morn appointment. Hopefully he can relieve this pain quickly because I am scheduled for my 18th year post heart transplant checkup Jan 28th & 29th at St Lukes Hospital. Even though I'm feeling a bit of "Burn-Out" on this laptop keyboard, I still take a few moments to read the various comments on this site. Hopefully after I complete my Annual Post Transplant checkup, I will be back online, chompin' at the bits, ready to spread some good cheer. As I have told Risa in the past, I love to spread it around like peanut butter, by golly. OOOPS!! I almost forgot. Peanut Butter is kinda' getting some bad publicity lately. Love you'all & God Bless Ol' Bob

Pickin' and grinnin' Me, my brother-in-law LeeRoy and my ol' truckin' buddy J.L. are truly enjoying our pastime back in 1990 just prior to my heart transplant. Neither of us can read music. We strictly play by ear. We all 3 love that good ol' tyme country music, gospel & Bluegrass. Been pickin' together since we were teenagers back in 1956. Ol' Bob

I want to share with you, a pic of my sister Judy and myself, taken in the back yard area of Elvis's Graceland Mansion in Memphis Tenn in 1992. I celebrated my successful heart transplant one year prior by inviting my wonderful sis Judy and 3 of her friends on a trip to Nashville and Memphis. This is the area where Elvis kept his horses. Ol' Bob P.S. I have been totally Blessed to have 4 wonderful, loving sisters in my life and I dearly love 'em all.

What a beautiful couple!!! Now I know where you get your good looks from!! I was in Graceland in 1984 and loved it. It was one of my 'first trips' out of PA...Thanks for sharing your beautiful sister with us. I really need to get some family pics on here.

Janet, on that particular trip, I had called in reservations for the "Grande Ol' Opry" a year in advance to guarantee good seating in the auditorium. We were seated in the third row front center. Wow !! Great seats, by golly. Judy and her 2 friends were absolutely thrilled. I had already been to the Opry several times in the past. We stayed 3 days/nights in the famous OpryLand Hotel. As for my sister Judy, our personalities are more alike than our other 3 sisters. Judy is very outgoing like myself. Wonderful sense of humor. She is now retired from the banking industry and living happily south of Ft Worth. Wasn't it great to visit Graceland back in 1984 and walk in the very same area that the Elvis walked in? Ol' Bob

I was not lucky enough to go to the Grand Ol Opry then...but we did that ten years ago when we were in Nashville for the annual Compassionate Friends conference. and we stayed in the OpryLand Hotel at that time...it was wonderful!! Very elegant~ Yes, it was beautiful at Graceland...I was amazed that the house was so 'small' though. I really expected a house MUCH BIGGER....it was big, but not as big as I expected it to be.
