How many of you also participate in offline support groups? Which do you like better, online groups or offline groups? Why? Note: If you have time, please also take a few minutes to complete my survey on "empowerment through participation in online forums" Thanks. http://www.transplantbuddies.org/tbx/messages/28848/339119.html?1290033046 |

Hi Jamie, I definitely prefer online groups and for me the one is Transplant Buddies with Transplant Friends a close second. Meagan

My wife and I both participate online and offline. We have a local group and then we have transplant buddies/friends. My wife does not have as much time as I do, so she normally just participates on buddies. I do buddies and chat on friends. I like our local group, but if the weather is bad, that kind of limits it plus I have made lots of friends here and you run into more new members here. It is a chance to make them feel welcome. Since everyone's experiences are different, it gives us all more information about everything. I like online better for these reasons. I have been invited to get involved with folks from where I was transplanted in St. Louis, but I am kind of waiting for them to contact me. They wanted me to mentor folks there.
