WellI have been here a week now. I have already had an amazing time. I had a great few days in Manchester with Rachael(Young girl needing a lung tx)and her family.
I had an awesome time with Marjolein in Amsterdam. The boat trip in the Canals, the Van Gogh museum and the amazing house of Anne Frank. All that along with a beautiful woman and tour guide!
Tomorrow I am off to the south of England to spend my Birthday in Cornwall and party with my family. I will enjoy a pint of cider to celebrate still being around at 46. :-)
Today , I will have a nice walk in the forest topped off with a pub lunch.

Ol Bob I am going to ring Micky today. :-)

Michael,

Seems as though you are having a great time. Hope you can contact our pal Micky. Please give him a big ol' Texas size hug for me if you meet in person.

Do you do most of your traveling there in England by rail or by car? If it is possible, please add a few pics to this thread. OK?

Enjoy yourself and please tell your Mum hi for all the gang on transplantbuddies.

Michael,
My wife and I are travelling to Italy in a couple of weeks. One week in Venice and a week in Florence.
This is the first time to travel since the transplant a little over a year ago. Any travel tips/suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks guys I am having a blast! I spent a lovely weekend in Cornwall with my family and friends. I even did an English cancer walk.
I am not able to post any pic's until I return home on the 26. I will have plenty to share :-)
Steve I don't wear a mask on the plane but since you are just over a year you may want to. My tx coord once said to me that if i wear a mask on a plane I would need to keep changing it. Something about the moisture. Just come and enjoy yourself!!!
Bob, I have been doing a lot of traveling by train. I am not going to be able to meet Micky but I am going to talk with him on the phone.

Micky probably told you, he and I share a love for C/W music and we are both musicians/stringed instruments. Have you even taken the time to read the info on his website about his journey through heart transplant. His heart surgery was documented by BBC.

I'm so very happy that you are having a great time over there in the UK, Michael.

Michael,
Can't wait to see your photos. Welcome back home!
I got a call from Cedars that Dr. Czer won't be there on the 9th after all, so I'm rescheduling my visit to see him on the 14th (I think). Will talk to Sandra in the morning to confirm.

Sorry about that Risa. I just added the rest of my captions. The girl with the O2 is Rachael. She is at the moment in the process of being listed for a double lung transplant in England. I have known Rachael for about five years now and she is really in need of her transplant. She is 21 years old.

Michael, this is a fantastic pic of you and our dear friend Marjolein there in Amsterdam.

I forwarded the link to your "Picasa" Photo Gallery to our mutual pal Micky B of England. Hope you don't mind.

Hahaha No i don't mind you sendin the pic to Micky. I had the longer arms so i took that pic. Poor Marjolein being stuck sitting next to a goofy American on that boat ride :-) I was the typical tourist snapping pic's of everything.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Michael,
Cool pictures! Marjolein looks great!
My appoinment with Dr. Czer has been confirmed. Tuesday the 14th at 11AM at 490W. Look forward to meeting you if you can make it. It's a long back and forth trip for me so won't be hanging around too long. My dad usually tries to leave before the rush hour traffic starts. It's bad all the way to Riverside on 60, or San Bernardino on 10, then out past Palm Springs to Palm Desert. See ya!

Hey Kelli,
I look forward to meeting up on the 14th. Maybe we can grab a snack or something after your appointment? Do you live in Palm Desert? I grew up there. I actually lived in Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Desert Hot springs. I spoke to a bunch of Graduating Nurses at C.O. D last year. :-) See ya soon!
