I had accupuncture today and it was amazing! It's been a few years since I've had it so I forgot how great it was. We have a Naturopathic school near my house so I go their teaching clinic and they have a sliding fee scale. They did the acupuncture and a little massage treatment on my neck and prescribed a few things. They recommended probiotics, fish oil and a whole food daily vitamin. Do any of you do accupuncture? If so how often do you go for treatments. I was thinking twice a month if I can afford it.

I appreciate what acupuncture does for me. I see an acupuncturist twice per month. I also hold my own acupuncture points and trace my meridians. Meridians are energy pathways. The needles are placed along the acupuncture points corresponding to the specific meridian that is being treated. Lung and large intestine are my favorites.

Today I worked on my very sick Grandmother holding her lung and heart points. Her pulse came down from 120 to 103. Unfortunately her pulse went back up after I was no longer holding her acupuncture points. I am going to teach my family members to hold her points when she starts to breathe quickly. I feel so badly for her.

hey Risa- I really did enjoy the accupuncture and need to learn about the accupuncture points. Can you recommend a good book or website for that? I think I will shoot for twice on month for the treatments. Next I need to find a massage school for a lowcost massage. Those always help loosen my neck and shoulder muscles. They seem to get so tight with breathing and carrying around the O2. Take care!

PJ, if you don't have one - buy a good backpack in order to transport your oxygen. It's much friendlier to the back and shoulders to carry it this way. I enjoyed my acupuncture too. I'd have a very good acupuncture doc but unfortunately not the money to visit her regularily.

Hi PJ Energy Medicine by Donna Eden and David Feintein PhD. Buy the revised edition. It just came out. She also has a new book called Energy Medicine For Women. I am going to buy that one soon.

Thanks for the input Frank and Risa!! I have a little back pack that came with the oxygen, but I think I need a stronger one that will balance the weight better. Risa---I am going to check out those books on Amazon. I am amazed how much that accupuncture treatment has helped me. Frank-I hope you're feeling better!

Hi Frank This is in the book Energy Medicine except there are much better drawings in the book. I trace my meridians to the time of day. Let us say, I am feeling tired around three o clock in the afternoon, I start at Central then trace governing, start at the meridian for time of day, trace all around the clock back to the time of day i started and then end at central and governing. I think I need to do this right now. It took a week for me to memorize the meridian and learn how to trace gently around my body. Tracing can be sweeping over either by touch or an inch above over the meridian.
