It's been a long time, folks! After 9 years with my new liver, we are still trying to decrease my immune suppressants. All had been going well this time, but now LFTs going up again. Of course they are raising my meds again -- but I have a theory. In July, my insurance(CIgna) changed tacro manufacturers to INTAS. Though my tacro level is fine, I wonder if this drug is just not working? My numbers were fine in June (had been on decreasing meds for a number of months), but then in August they were up, and worse last week when rechecked. Has anyone had trouble with tacro change? I have written to the pharmacist as Txp here to look into this - he is a guy who takes odd questions seriously - but you folks seem as good a source as any! On a better note, things at Univ of Ky transplant are kinder and gentler with a change of staff and directors from my days... And 8 of us recipients took part in an amazing workshop telling our stories and painting life-size portraits of our bodies and our bodies' journeys. They are using the canvasses when they do organ donation programs. And now, a videographer is making a film about us - our stories and how we have gone on with our lives! I have no idea how to put any of this on your site, but here is a link to start with... Hi Linda Welcome! I remember you very well. You are a psychologist? We have a few Linda's on this site but you were the first that I remember. Sounds like you are taking a generic Prograf? I hope all works out for you. I will search to see if I can find the story you are talking about. If I cannot find it please give my email address to the Videographer so I can display your work transplantbuddies@Gmail.com Nice seeing you again Rise'

In regards to the generic Prograf, it may be possible that the inactive ingredients of the new tacrolimus could be different from the formulation of the other company. I heard that this was one possible concern of some doctors when a patient goes to the generic of Prograf. The different inactive ingredients of the various generics might cause someone to absorb the active ingredient of tacrolimus differently. I hope that your doctors can figure out how best to adjust your medication. The project at UofK sounds wonderful. I used to go to the University of Kentucky as an undergraduate. I hope that many can be encouraged and reached through this program. Thank you for sharing.
