As you may have been reading, there is lots of evidence for this type of short-burst interval training. This one is great because all you need is right there in your house. No driving to the gym, paying for memberships, spending hours. I still do some longer exercises like on the elliptical, but I now do the interval setting. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/05/09/the-scientific-7-minute-workout/

Thank You so much AJS for sharing this. I read about interval training on Mercola but never put it to the test. Because of you, I will start today. I will share this on friends and pass this along to my dear ones too. Keep on keeping on and thanks for the motivation.

Another part of this theory, Rise, is that interval exercise increases the amount of time after you finish where your body burns calories at a higher rate. In effect, raising your metabolism. It's a bit more uncomfortable, but for a shorter time. For example, on my elliptical, out of 30 minutes, there are only four 3-minute stretches where can not wait for that part to be over. The trick is finding the max level that you can endure for those small stretches. i find DVRing shows that I like and watching them while I exercise helps distract my mind from the task at hand. Exercise is no fun, but I love the endorphin rush afterwards.

Thank you so much for the education. I have to be careful not to lose weight but If I eat more and try this out, I will do well. I know how quickly my glucose numbers would drop to normal after doing pushups and crunches.

Hi guys! I love this kind of exercise. I go to the Y 3-4 times a week. Most of the classes except for step class use this concept. It has been very effective for me. Thanks Ajs for posting. God Bless! Karen

I really enjoy reading Dr. Mercola's newsletters I found this today on his home page regarding the seven minute workout. Very interesting point of view. http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2013/05/24/7-minute-workout.aspx
