So in light of all the recent news related to transplant and organ donation, I have spent time talking with friends at my transplant center and trying to decide what we can do to turn this into something positive for the transplant community. After much talk my friends and I decided to write a petition in support of an opt out policy for organ donation in place of the current system. Right now the petition focuses on only the State of Florida and making changes to our policies in state. Ultimately we have hopes that something will happen nationwide but the first logical step is to start at the state level. My request is for any Floridians to check out the petition and to sign it. Also if you could forward this on to all of your family and friends. Our goal is to reach 10, 000 signatures but I would love it if we could send this out and get well over that mark. Florida is a large state and we have well over 10,000 people to reach! Once we reach our goal we will be contacting or state representative and hoping to start the wheels in motion to institute change. Please help us get there. Thanks for all the support and assistance in spreading the word! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/353/317/923/opt-out-policy-for-organ-donationtransplantation/
