Hi everyone. Been awhile since I posted. I am 27 months since I had my LVAD implanted. I am doing great, zero issues. I just turned 40, am 6'4", 210 lb, O+, and PRA +. So my doctors want me to go to Cedar Sinai to be desensitized and be listed there. Anyone have any experience with being desensitized?

Quick update for everyone. I have an active driveline infection that has been treated with Cipro and debrided surgically. I now have 100 days of 1A time. No false alarms or calls yet. My doctors told me that around 90 days they start to get some calls and they are hopeful that it will come sometime soon.

Hi, Pete, Just saw your blog & sounds like you're hanging in there. Try to keep your spirits up- you never know when you'll be surprised by that phone call. My 2 yr tx anniversary is December 22nd. I was told I would need an LVAD inserted & would probably wait up to 2yrs., but got that call 2 days after being listed! I know this was a fortunate aberration-I am B- and am now 67 & feel better that I have in years. Mine was done at Cedars-Sinai in LA & have only the highest praise for their expertise & care! All my working-out, distance walking, and COMPLIANCE TO THE REGIMEN has paid off. Keep up your good attitude and you'll be going strong in no time! Best regards, Marc |
