A got a call from the doctor at UCLA who said the team denied my lung transplant due to my antiphospholipid and monoclonal gammopathy in addition to my emphysema. The transplant team decided I was too high of a risk for a single transplant. I am 69 in fairly good physical condition. I am devastated. Have any of you had the antiphospholipid (APS) and/or monoclonal gammopathy (MGUS)? I would be interested in your experience. I'm quite scared if I get a nasty case of bronchitis or heaven forbid pneumonia I will not make it. Nan of CA nehemann@roadrunner.com

Hi Nan I am sorry to hear you received such news. I hope that someone hears you and can respond to your question. Didn't someone on Friends write to you that they were familiar with your condition? Even when you are ill, eating healthy, getting fresh air, vitamin D can help keep you healthy. Can you take immune boosting supplements since transplant may not be an option for you? Can you see someone who can guide you in this direction?
