Hello Everyone..I'm a celebrating my 16 th year out from a Double Lung Transplant

Everything going well ..active ,working no o'2 ..

So if you are debating on whether getting on the transplant list ..while there are never any guarantees life can be long and very good after transplant.

Congrats Dan, Hoping I make it that long. only 2 1/2 months for me, but no complications. May you continue to be blessed.

Thanks John..

2 1/2 months Old ..well you're just a kid ;)

The hands shaking/quivering will fade as your body becomes accustomed to the meds .. You may find yourself on some real highs and lows..that would be prednisone if you are on it..they will taper that down as you progress.

Treat the Sun with respect...skin cancer not a big deal as long as you stay on top of it..its; OK to enjoy the Sun on your face for 15 minutes it isnt ok to work in the yard with your shirt off for 3 hours .

Common sense stuff.. you're entire life is centered around your transplant at this time and will be for at least the first year.that's ok ..but just remember this ..

The Reason you had a transplant was to get YOUR life back.... You can be You again or your entire life can be the Guy that had the transplant..

Whats the old saying.. "You are what you eat".. you need this space now .. it's an exciting time ..a scary time and you have nagging thoughts etc.. you'll move beyond it ..you will settle in and be back to your normal routine before you know it

I haven't been to a support forum in years .. just passing on some info..whether you want it or not lol

Take Care !

John you know how they try and get you to go to local Transplant support Groups after your transplant..

Well the first one I went to there were 6 women in it and me..they we are sitting around moaning about this and that ..especially on the Prednisone because they were growing hair all over .

I spoke up and said I was really grateful for my transplant and the Prednisone wasn't all that bad..in fact pretty happy with it in that before Transplant I only had 4 hairs on my chest and after I have 8 ..!!

lol

All six of them just glared at me lol
