Hi-
Does anyone have any info on MRSA in the lungs (or mrsa related pneumonia)--and how it affects the whole liver condition??
My boyfriend Rene' was finally told that is what he had, and was hospitalized at TJUH in Philly-- He's been coughing badly for a few months now.
Last week he was hosptalized for pneumonia, released a couple of days later, fnished his antibiotics, then this past MOnday RE-hospitalized and told he actually had MRSA, probably due to lots of exposure to hospitals lately, getting 'tapped' and all....
I am very worried how this is going to affect his recovery. I realize that he will probably be inactivated from the liver list until this infection clears up.
They put him on powerful antibiotics...
Has anyone else waiting for a liver experienced this as well?? We have been asking doctors about his persistent coughing forever, and we kept getting told it was probably just due to his ascitis...! Should he have gotten screened for MRSA earlier???
Very frustrated,
Lucia

It is with a very heavy heart that I say my beloved Rene' passed away on the early morning of May 23rd in Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.. .I had just managed to fly out there from California only 23 hours prior this his death..
Eventually MRSA infection got the best of him. He never seemed to get better after that. He stopped having an appetite about 2 weeks ago, and Something went very wrong in his intestinal tract and found a necrotic part of his colon that was very dangerous.
He eventually went into multi organ failure. He was a strong and valiant fighter. He was surrounded by love as we (his family and I) watched him leave us.
I will feel this void forever,
thanks to everyone,
Lucia
