I will be praying for you. Hopefully, the procedures will be smooth as silk.

Hi everyone! I just got new that Nervous 1 is out of surgery and in ICU. Apparently, everything is going well. I will post when I hear more. Congrats, Nervous 1, you are a hero today!!
I am a Live Liver donor. I donated my right liver lobe to my father on 4-29-10. USC University Hospital in California performed our surgery. So far, so good. We are both doing great. |

Hi, all. Nervous 1 is doing good today. She is talking and sitting in a chair in her room. They are thinking about moving her out of ICU sometime today. So far so good for the recipient, too.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give you an update: Nervous 1 is safe and sound at her home. It's been one week today that she donated part of her liver to her recipient. They are both doing good. Nervous 1 still has some pain at the incision site. She is eating solid foods and taking it slow. Her recipient is doing good, too. It sounds like everything is good. Another successful transplant, I love it!

Thanks all...it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. Hopefully I can help others through it now that I have done it. I'm only 2 weeks post op, but considering what my body just went through, I have no complaints. Thanks to Tawnya for the calls and hand holding..i hope to do it for someone else in the future. |
