Received info today on my sister in law. I have written about her before. She is on the transplant list and was all the down to 6th on the list. They just did a MRA and are having a meeting tomorrow to decide whether or not she is a viable candidate for a liver transplant now because they found a large white area on the side to side view of her MRA which they say indicates that this is why she is having memory problems and balance problems and not because of ammonia. They are having a meeting tomorrow to decide whether or not to take her off the list because they are saying that she may not recover with one and that their are people out there that would have a better life then she would with a new liver. She was so upset when the doctors said this today and began to cry, and replied, so are you saying I'm useless. I have taken care of her myself and see her memory come and go. She is not how she use to be in any way. Always taking a long time to reply and sometimes not even replying at all. And yet at other times especially when on antibiotics she is pretty clear. If she is taken off the list she will die. She is very very ill now. Anything at all in the way of advice or help in trying to keep her on the list? Please pray for the family, we are feeling upside down right now. |
