Does anyone have any suggestions how to relief some of the groin pain from inguinal hernia pain? Obviously, they won't operate since it will just return before a liver transplant. The only things I do now is put ice on the are that is swollen and sore and just avoid straining myself and wearing loose clothing.

Sorry I don't understand why will it return before the liver tx, if they fix it.!! You must be careful that the hernia does not incarcerate and strangulate as that could be game changer. I had a huge (the size of a cantaloupe) hernia on the incision on my right side. My Drs didn't want to operate b/c of the risk of infection ( it was post TX) and although there was no danger of strangulation b/c the hole was so big, I insisted and my Drs repaired 2 yrs post tx. I was successful but I landed right back in ER 2 days later with an intestinal blockage (ILEUS). In your case there must be another reason that your docs don't want to do it. the other Bob
