Hello again, Well currently they're doing me the pre transplant exams once again. Two weeks ago I had ANA, ANCA, ENA, and C3 tested to see the possibe cause of my renal failure. All of those had been tested many different times over the last 7 months, always coming up negative, however this time I have got confused. C3 was 82 (slightly low, can be understandable due to the kidney failure) ANA was negative ENA negative ANCA-p negative ANCA.c positive 1/40 The ANCA one was done through IFI, here is holiday until Tuesday so I havent got the opportunity to talk with a doctor, I'm a bit worried and that's why I'm posting here to see if anyone of you knows. How's it possible that the ANCA test was done back when I got the kidney failure and it came up negative? it also came negative in July and September, so that's what I don't understand. Had I suffered somekind of vasculitis, wouldnt have it appeared on the results exactly when I was feeling like dying back on late February? Besides vasculitis, what can cause ANCA-c to came out positive? |

Hi, don't know the answer as to why it showed up negative first time, but my Anca test was positive and my renal failure was due to vasculitis, I also had blood clots in my nose that never cleared up. The name for my renal failure is Wegners, have the doctors tested for this? Hope things improve for you. |

Hi Jamie, how have you been since first diagnosed with Wegener , has been everything all right? what symptoms did you suffer besides the renal failure? My doctor is telling me to take the exam now through ELISA method as it is very unlikely that I have any kind of vasculitis, plus it would have been positive back on the moment I got the rapid progressive glomerulonephritis! |
