Hi everyone,
I have been following Jeff on facebook and it appears that he has started hospice services.
For those that don't know Jeff received a kidney from his sister Patty. Earlier this year some problems began and this current news is disturbing.
Is anyone in touch with Patty? I am hoping we are able to reach out to her and comfort her during this very difficult time. Having had the experience of being a donor to my brother, I feel compelled to try to see if Patty needs or wants to talk at this time
So if anyone is in touch with Patty, please pass my prayers and support along to her. Thank you

Dawn, thank you so much for updating us. I wish it was better news. I think of both of them often and wondered how Jeff was doing. It must be a very hard decision to make for both of them. We will add our prayers to yours on this Thanksgiving Day and wish for peace and comfort for them and their family.

Rise' I know it is Jeff's wish for things to happen as is intended. We have communicated and it is just heartbreaking to me as a donor sister. I know that Patty is very strong and in her brother's corner! I just want to keep them both in our prayers as we celebrate this day of thanksgiving

I just read the news that Jeff has passed. I certainly chose the wrong day to be away from my computer.

Jeff and I just talked about how he was feeling on Thursday. He offered me a hug and turkey sandwich, Thanksgiving night :-( I told him I would take that hug.

Jeff seemed to be at peace with his life and his decisions. I pray that Anthony greeted him at the gates of heaven and that they are now off fishing in the bluest water they have ever seen!

My prayers and heart go out to his family, friends and of course his loving, selfless, sister Patty! She has been an angel to him on more than one occasion and he just recently wrote to me about how much she has been helping him prepare for his passing.

Rest In Peace, Jeff

I was so shocked to see this on FB. I had no idea he would pass so soon. He will be missed very much by those of us who never actually met him...I can only imagine how much his close family and friends will be missing him. I will keep Patty and his family in my prayers...

I am so upset that Jeff had passed and enjoyed his many posts and PICS of him fishing. May he rest in peace. I hope Patty is somehow dealing with this and being comforted. If I remember correctly she was his half sister and they were an amazing team.

I don't know if I missed a few of his posts having not been on as much as possible. Especially now, being in retail and the long hours I'm putting in.

Last I remember reading, he was living with Patty and his kidney was failing due to him going off his meds last year or the year before I don't remember exactly. He had been extremely depressed but he sounded like he was dealing with what happened and being as positive as possible.

I don't remember what his diagnosis was that led him to the transplant. To be in hospice you have to be terminal or very very sick. Was he not willing to do dialysis or something else and did his transplanted kidney fail? last I read one of his posts his creatinine was in the 3's! I'm not sure where he stood medically and the whole thing is very upsetting to me. I know he was young and trying to get back on track physically, mentally and emotionally.

I will miss him and pray he was met by the many other angels at the gate. Prayers to his family at this time of sorrow.

Prayers to the family. Jeff was a good man, and it is hard to see someone go so young. He is at least at peace and relieved of his illness. Thanks for keeping us updated, Dawn.

I didn't know Jeff or Patty but feel of the goodness and courage of both their lives through the comforting words left here. I believe everyone here in T-Buddies would join with me in expressing the spirit and sentiment of this verse:

What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know,
Than Christ-like friends whose gentle ways,
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.

May God bless their family and hold them safely in the hallow of His hand until we meet again.

I had interacted many times with Jeff and we shared "fishin" stories from time to time. I had found him to be good man with a lot common sense, in the very best sense of those words. I have seen others yield to depression and fall into things that no one can ever explain. To me, I find it hard to relate to, but I am sure that God will explain it to me someday. For now, I know that Jeff is in His care.

Eternal Memory and Peaceful Repose.

Hi everyone....it's Patty. Wow. I just logged on again after years of being off of tx buddies. I am truly amazed by all of your kind thoughts and prayers. I miss Jeff everyday, but know he is in a better place and finally at peace. Thank you to everyone who was his tx friend and given him courage and strength throughout this journey. God Bless

Hi Patty,
As has already been said it is great to see you here. You are often in my thoughts and I hope that you are doing well.
Jeff is a very special soul and I am quite sure that Anthony would have found him in his journey. They had a few character traits in common.
I hope to hear more from you soon. Thank you for the peace you provided to him, I know from his lips that it meant the world to him
