It seems so unreal that it has been almost 4 years since I donated my liver lobe to my brother, Anthony.

Time passes so quickly....

I am hoping that everyone here who has donated a liver lobe will post. With the date of their resection, who they donated to, and any comments you may have of the surgery, recovery, follow up and life now!

Looking forward to hearing from each of you

I donated 66% of my right liver lobe one year ago, today, ( 4-29-10) to my dad. USC in California performed our surgery, and we were blessed to have smooth and successful transplant. My father is thriving like a plant that has been watered, fed, sunned. He is like a little kid in a candy store. He appreciates every day of his new found life and goes everywhere, does everything, and eats everything in sight. His favorite thing to do is eat. He loves his food. It makes me so happy to see him like this. It's unbelievable that we have hit the one year mark.

I am doing great as well. I feel like the resection never happened. I am back doing everything I did before the resection. My recovery was easy. I was back to the gym in 2 months and I just got better and better from there. My scar is still itchy from time to time and it's still keyloided. I don't know if it will ever fatten out. The doctor's told me that it is still healing. There is too much to say about being in the hospital and I will be happy to answer any potential live liver donor's questions but I won't go into that right now.

All I can say is that I had a lot of angel's watching over me and my father that day, one year ago, and I am grateful for our outcome which has allowed me to have my father around. I have no regrets and I would do it again in a second! I am also grateful for having this site that Rise' has created. You are truly fabulous, Rise', the way you connect and help people touch others lives. I have two new sisters' because of you who will be part of my life forever and for that, I thank you. And to all my TB, I love you all. ((HUGS)) ((HUGS)) T

I donated my right liver lobe to my father on 4-29-10.

USC University Hospital in California performed our surgery. So far, so good. We are both doing great.

It's been a few years. In 2011 I asked our living liver donors to step us and share their story. We had a few responses which was wonderful. Since then I know we have added quite a few members to our livergiver club.. I would love to update our members so that we are able to support each other and help each other through the difficult moments.

Please step up if you are a living donor

Not a liver donor, but good to see that you are still here, Dawn. I know that I have referred a couple of potential donors to you for information.

Hi LadyDi. Yes, I am still around. I've been laying a bit low since the marathon in April. I just needed some time to refresh!

Our group of donors has certainly grown, which is wonderful to see. I hope that all is well with you!!

Hugs!
